Levin announced on September 6, 2016—two months before the November 8 election—that he would vote for Trump over Hillary. That’s hardly “last minute.”
Yup. He said he would. And then right back to how bad Trump is, how he has to hold his feet to the fire, how he’s not a real conservative but rather a populist and how terrible that is, how his tariffs will ruin the country, etc. He never had a good thing to say. His “support” for Trump very much came across as “well I guess I gotta vote for him but I’m not gonna like it and neither should you.” Honestly they first time I actually heard him urge people to vote for Trump was on election night when he got word that Florida was extremely tight, suddenly he was like “oh hey, you better go out and vote”. I remember this because it struck me ... now you say it?
And thats hardly a ringing endorsement.
