With Justice Kennedy’s departure, the court is very likely to lock in an unmoderated, hard-right majority for the rest of most of our lives.

They are full of sh*t. Even with a Conservative court, this country is flailing miserably adhering to the original intent of our Constitution. "Hard right" to them is Originalism and some of the worst justices have actually been appointed by Republicans.

Like Earl Warren and Brennan!

Earl Warren was a politician, and Brennan only had five years experience as a judge, as state of New Jersey judge.

Appointments have too often been based more on political horse-trading than jurisprudence.

I think we have a much better chance with Trump's list of potential justices, consisting of people with long histories of conservative jurisprudence, and have been carefully researched for their judicial philosophy and personal character, and are personally well known to conservative court-watchers.
