I was born and raised in eastern Maine.
Over my early years (50s & 60s) living up there, I’ve seen it snow every month of the year except for maybe July & August. On the other side of the coin, I’ve been out deer hunting on Thanksgiving Day in a t-shirt it was so warm, but the next morning had 8” of snow on the ground and was 25 degrees. I’ve flipped hamburgers on an outside grille on 4th of July and had to wear a winter parka because it was so cold. Weather extremes/changes in the far NE have been that way for a long, long time. IF they think that’s due to climate change, they’re so full of BS....but then we all know that already...LOL
I was stationed at Loring AFB, Maine, back in the early 60’s. When I got my orders to ship out to Germany, it was snowing, in August, when I drove off the base, on my way to Georgia to drop off my car before going overseas.
Now, technically it’s after the summer solstice, but - is this the last snow of last winter or the first snow of next winter?
I remember spending a 4th of July in Boothbay about 30 years back. It was fogged in and 50 degrees during the day. I had to buy a sweatshirt because I had not packed one.
