Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on Thursday urged the president to make the 2018 midterms a national referendum on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
"If it is Donald Trump versus Nancy Pelosi, the president wins that every single time, and that's what's going to play out this election cycle," Lewandowski told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton on "Rising."
"If this election is defined as a referendum on President Trump and his agenda, which is tax cuts, strong border wall, and the deregulation of our government, then the Republicans win, and I think the Republicans hold the House," Lewandowski said.
"If this becomes a local election like we saw with Connor Lamb in Pennsylvania -- where he really localized the election; he ran away from Nancy Pelosi as a Democrat; he said I'm not really interested in voting for her for the next speaker -- then I think the Democrats could do fairly well," he added.

President Trump again blasted Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) early Wednesday, saying that her "crazy rants" have made her the public face of the Democratic Party.
"Congratulations to Maxine Waters, whose crazy rants have made her, together with Nancy Pelosi, the unhinged FACE of the Democrat Party," Trump tweeted. "Together, they will Make America Weak Again! But have no fear, America is now stronger than ever before, and I'm not going anywhere!"
The tweet marked the president's third online attack on the congresswoman since Monday, when he dubbed her "an extraordinarily low IQ person" and first declared that she had become the "face of the Democratic Party."

Could not agree more. The average voter could not give a rat's backside about who the Speaker of the House or Minority Whip happens to be or why it even matters. They do, at least, know that there is a Constitution and that we have a Supreme Court that does things from time-to-time. Beyond that, their interests are local, which is why turnout is a fraction of a Presidential election cycle.
She's not a big enough target, and they're going to dump her anyway.
The Democrats' immigration and demographic replacement plans are a better target, as are their plans to get rid of the Second Amendment, or their desire to undo the rules that make civil life possible (as by opening up bathrooms and other accommodations to transsexuals), or a dozen other massive vulnerabilities.
Also he can keep dribbling out covered-up scandal after covered-up scandal left behind by Obama and Hillary.
This is a FAIL strategy....
A winning strategy is for the Dems to keep going nuts and make it a national referendum on Trump for everyone.
The prior strategy means the R’s lose the house... The latter strategy is a 20 seat gain for R’s.
Make it an open referendum on open borders. Either you have a sovereign American nation and a distinct culture or you don’t.
Yep...and explain to Americans all of their daily costs due to open borders (higher taxes, higher housing costs, more traffic, more crime, worse/more crowded schools, etc)

The referendum will be on whether Trump is doing a good job and if you want another 6 years. Whether, you want to have the Trump investigations stopped. I think the Bolshies lose 20 seats in the House and 10 in the Senate. Until now, the Bolshies could have found enough votes in the House to impeach. Trump is infinitely better than jOkeass, and, jOkeass was a disaster.
Make this election about the Democrats platform. Get their quotes, turn into one ad and run it all over the country. Hoist them on their own petard.
Also spot on. If there is a split vote for Republicans, we will lose. This is an election like no other in recent memory....Republicans, Libertarians, and moderates and those rare Democrats that understand where we are headed if President Trump is not elected. A vote for America is a vote for Donald Trump......help in your area to get the vote out!
Pelosi has name recognition. To those who support Trump, that's NEGATIVE name recognition.
It doesn't matter she doesn't have much influence.
What matters is Trump supporters know her and they know they don't like her.
Trump didn’t win the election by making it about Pelosi.
Republicans won’t win the midterm by making it about Pelosi either.
We win by having a plan to move the country in the right direction. We win by embracing the visions laid out by Trump.
