Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Wednesday touted his Republican colleague Sen. Mike Lee (Utah) as the "best choice" to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement announcement.
"I think the single best choice President Trump could make to fill this vacancy is Sen. Mike Lee," Cruz said on Fox News shortly after Kennedy's announcement. "I think he would be extraordinary."

I think the governor of Utah would appoint a Democrat to replace Lee. Trump must keep in mind the number of Democrats in the Senate. He can’t afford to lose one. It would be terribly sad if he appointed Lee then Lee wasn’t confirmed because Flake votes with his friends.
Ted Cruz, Mark Levin, and Glenn Beck, all neverTrumpers and all want Mike Lee; well, I don’t want him, because of this, and because he cared so little about the Constitution to make Hillary Clinton the president.

In October 2016, one month before the election, three months after the convention, Lee put out a video encouraging Trump to step down as the candidate.
No Cruz. No Lee. No television personality. I prefer a SC justice that has solid credentials that were earned by working in the trenches. Politicians and personalities bend too easily to public opinion.
You need to clearly define “nevertrumpers.” It’s not what you say it is.

People who once said they would NEVER support trump are Nevertrumpers. As far as I am concerned this includes people like cruz who now support trump, for the time being. Nevertrumpers like geo will, fund,kristol,mcmullin,chas cooke,williamson, et al are the obvious ones. Others who said they would not ever support trump but now sing a different tune like paul ryan, mike lee, cruz,are only a step better. But they are NEVER to be trusted based on their past statements. Once a snake, always a snake.

I decided not to endorse Mike Lee for the Supreme Court!
I think it is a very bad idea to appoint a politician, especially a Senator but if one such is to be sent, Cruz would be at least as good as Lee.
Never trust a Nevertrumper! They will lie to get into position then stab you in the back. Lee would not be reliable on the border because the Mormons want Open Borders so Mormons from Mexico can immigrate here. Mexico has the second largest Mormon population.
Lee voted for mcmuffin as a “protest vote” against Trump. I don’t think he’s mature enough to be a Supreme Justice. That’s like a teenaged or liberal act.

I’m not comfortable with Lee either.
Really liked him prior to his #NeverTrump BS.
Taking a Conservative Senator out of a seat got us burned with Sessions. Rewarding #NeverTrumps is not a good policy anyway.
