Candidate Trump had a rally in southwest Wisconsin about then. As I recall it started at about 1:00 AM. On a Monday.
20,000 people showed up at 1 in the morning on a Monday. Many of them waited in line starting around 4 in the afternoon.
That’s when I knew Trump was going to win. My friends and family told me I was nuts. But I knew right then he had it in the bag.

I knew Trump was going to win — IF it were a fair election. I worried about the ever-present wild card of Dem cheating. So they cheated, but not enough.

The Trump election strategy was absolutely brilliant. While Felonia Von Pansuit stayed in her “safe” areas trying to run up numbers Candidate Trump was out in the sticks appealing to disaffected folks who were totally sick of business as usual.
And those folks showed up. Man, did they ever show up.
If he hadn’t worked so hard drumming up the forgotten and ignored folks out in the hinterlands he never would have been able to overcome the urban blue areas.
Political science types will be studying this election for a century.
