BRUSSELS (AP) — European Union leaders claimed a breakthrough deal Friday on how to deal with the pressures of migration after all-night talks helped accommodate Italian demands for more help.

The EU leaders said the agreement would bolster the bloc’s external borders and improve the solidarity among member nations to ease pressure on point-of-entry nations like Greece and Italy.

The plan proposes screening migrants in North Africa for asylum eligibility {snip}

Details are sketchy, but the proposed EU plan involves erecting a virtual wall in northern Africa by placing people who try to leave for Europe in centers in countries like Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Niger and Tunisia.

But what are they doing about those who come anyways?
The legal solution will not matter at all if they accept those invaders who come illegally.

Legal solutions are slim to none and Slim and None boarded the train shortly after 1960. Will be incredible to watch the unfolding and more than likely I’ll be dead so I’ll watch from a cloud if God will allow.

Last I checked, Saudi Arabia has lots of territory, and few people. Their culture and language is similar to many who are going to Europe (which has different culture, language)

Why don't they all go to Saudi Arabia?

The AP folks left about 95-percent of the story....out of this news piece.

What they said at the conclusion of this emergency meeting, is that they’d come to a joint decision...anyone who wanted to construct a processing and holding center on their soil....could. Anyone who wanted to participate in liberating those in the center....could.

Beyond that....nothing else happened.

You can go and read the twenty-five news organizations of Europe, and they all put a positive spin on this story....which is basically zero-gain story and a week wasted with no results.

Merkel will return home talking of the great deeds done, and then some idiot will ask her which ones, and she’ll just grin.

Yes, sending these mostly Central African freeloaders to Saudi Arabia would be just rewards for their efforts, hehehe.

But what will likely come out of it will be sprawling, permanent encampments modeled after the "Palestinian refugee camps". that worked out really well huh? They have been funded for going on 70+ years by the UN and now they want to do it for a bunch of African savages in North Africa. What happens when even corrupt German immigration officials can't be bribed into giving them visas? Are they going home? Of course not; they will malinger and cause trouble for all the rest.

Just as the US needs to learn: obtain refugee status, if you actually qualify, back in your home country. Then and only then will you be allowed to enter. Everyone trying to force their way into your country must be turned back whenever apprehended. The boats will keep on coming as long as goofy minded EU liberals are feeling soft headed about foreign savages taking over your nation and destroying you culturally and economically.

Will children be separated from parents?

We could follow their lead by establishing a virtual wall well south of the Mexican border - in a central American country

That I’ll be about as successful as Chamberlain’s Munich Agreement. The Muslims are invading Europe. Only force will stop them and Western Europe lacks the will to do so.

You are correct. They are coming because of EU welfare, which promises a much higher standard of living than at home. The only way to stop them is with deadly force, and the Europeans are unwilling to do so.

Decades ago, the novel “Camp of the Saints” predicted the final result.

Tangiers has fences and walls. Outside these 10 ft fences are poles and ladders made from trees used by different waves of people who gather around and then charge the barrier and once over the fence they are given free passage to Soain and the EU. Seen it myself.

what about Sudan?

Salva Kiir and Riek Machar signed a peace treaty a day or so ago. Supposed to be a big deal. Perfect timing to pour some money in there (which will happen anyway we’re such suckers), and get something out of it on the back end.

Exactly correct.

In this case, all the potential migrants need to do is figure out how to get to Europe without being snagged in North Africa.

How much is a economy class airline ticket from Dakar to Paris? Lagos to London? Mombasa to Madrid?

Yes, I was reading about it in the Guardian, and Italy doesn’t seem particularly thrilled about it.

And even if this much comes to fruition, you know the left is just waiting-if they built mansions for the “asylum seekers”, the left will start to howl about the poor poor migrants being kept in cages, etc, until the weak-kneed (or complicit) EU leaders just let them all go free anyway.
