Ocasio-Cortez pushes back on Pelosi’s analysis of win: ‘...we’re in the middle of a movement’

New York Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is pushing back on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) characterization of her surprise primary win, saying the Democratic Party is in the midst of a movement.

“I think that we’re in the middle of a movement in this country,” Ocasio-Cortez told CNN's Erin Burnett late Wednesday. “I feel this movement, but that movement is going to happen from the bottom up. That movement is going to come from voters.”

Pelosi dismissed speculation in a news conference earlier Wednesday, saying Ocasio-Cortez's win should not be seen as a larger movement within the party at the national level.

"They made a choice in one district. So let’s not get yourself carried away as an expert on demographics and the rest of that," Pelosi said.

“Interpretation .... I’m busy on the toilet”

After 2 cups-o-my black dark roast I’m ready for a movement too!

The Bronx (where this district is) is often the single most heavily Democratic County in the whole country.

Within this skewed environment, they only had 10% turnout for this primary, so it was basically just the activist base.

Her win has nothing to do with Sanders and everything to do with S Am politics.

Pull out the voting trends for this district that Ocasio-Cortez won in the primary.

It’s an odd thing, if you consider the past six elections, basically this Crowly-Ocasio-Cortez event drew around 20-to-40 percent of the normal Democratic crowd (combined). This leads me to think that Ocasio-Cortez simply picked a lucky period where people weren’t going to show up and vote for Crowly, and she somehow convinced the youth-crowd of her Bernie-charm.

I think for the Democratic Party, she presents a major problem. Once she arrives in DC? I think she’s going to demand Pelosi step down from the leadership position.

I feel this movement,

Yes, a movement similar to one you have in a bathroom.

Bernie Sanders in drag. She will be a darling of the failed Media, go to DC, and accomplish nothing no matter how long she is there.

Major dust up coming.

She will be made to understand that she is a piece of the DNC, not its center. As much as everyone despises Pelosi, she is a major power and not to be dismissed by the petty cogs and held in contempt as this upstart has done.

There are more than a few ways party discipline is enforced. Alexandria is about to find out how it is done.

She's right.

Socialism/Marxism is a "movement" in this country that has stolen the old Democrat Party with the dream of turning the United States into Venezuela, San Fransisco, Chicago...

Those on the Radical Left are so thoroughly indoctrinated by academia and the media that they have lost their ability to question whether or not what they seek can actually survive in the real world.

"...Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez..."

If these Bernie-style young Socialists continue to wrestle power away from old school Democrats...we may see them clamoring for greater and more comprehensive border security.

Yeah. One that ends with a FLUSH!

Right. A nice long bowel movement. Part of that Swamp Draining process. Hope that she doesn’t forget to wipe.

hate to live in no hope or determination to make a change as you state.

That view seems cut from the turn and run cloth.

USofA cloth was cut from stand and fight when you know your cause is just and right with our Creator.

Otherwise yeah, live demoralized and always walking away from what seems too hard.

As I posted elsewhere, let us celebrate all those historical socialist movements - akin to Nancy's and Alexandria's - to improve society for everyone. Such as when the Chinese (to use a phrase recently repeated by Max Max) "kicked the opposition in the rear"...

...advances in Ukrainian agriculture...

...Pol Pot's skeletal catalog system...

...Soviet full employment in building the White Sea-Baltic Canal...

...thespian charity during the war...

...and the American Antifa (here getting clocked in the head)...

What's to fear?

LOL. This broad won her seat in a heavily Latino (or whatever the right word is this week, I don’t really care right now) district, heavily and historically blue, with one of the lowest voter turn-outs in the country, and she thinks that she’s the head of some epic movement now? One thing is as sure as the sun rising in the east, and that is that leftists have the grandest of delusions.
