Doesn’t a crushing defeat require substantial voter participation? It is my understanding that while the percentages were high the turnout was very low and this woman won by only about a 5000 vote margin...hardly indicative of a wave, but perhaps of voter apathy.
I just read that her district has 700,000 residents...only 16,800 voted....ripple perhaps, but hardly a wave.

Do you see the self-contradiction in your analysis? You said Crowley lost because he was over-confidant and relaxed. Then your prescription for Republican success is to relax, don't get worked over this supposed out-lier election result.
No, the correct course is not "relax," but redouble efforts to make sure this cancer does not spread.
My personal experiences are mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area in California which is probably close to The Bronx in politics. I was shocked in the past few years when I discovered the attorney for a small firm I worked at is a rabid Democratic Socialist and the architect for our kitchen remodel is an outright communist. Then we have one of my wife's close friends who is active in "the Resistance." Admittedly a small sample, but rather disconcerting to find people I admire professionally having such radical leftist beliefs.

Yep. Any CoC (communist of color) who doesn’t currently have a job need only move to a district with a white male democrat in office and run against him as a brand spanking new Social Democrat. Heck, in most cases, he probably won’t even have to primary the incumbent and should be able to white shame him into conceding the seat unopposed.

Only 10% turnout, in the Bronx, which is usually the most heavily Democratic County in the entire country. NYC is a hotbed of hard core communists, and it would be easy for them across the city to hop the subway and vote for a comrade in the Bronx, if the Party asked. It might indicate a trend, but it is more likely to be an outlier.

I doubt it had anything to do with the debate or the regulars. This was an election about race. And a pasty white guy showing up to patronize a firebrand woman of color would have just made it worse.
Certainly can’t call anyone who thinks like she does “enlightened.” I’ll stick with ignorant - she doesn’t KNOW that socialist countries enslave its citizens - and stupid - she doesn’t care! I can’t believe she won with such low voter turn out. They’re already making her out to be their hero.
She is young, brash, and uneducated. Does she even have a college degree? She works as a bartender. She's already bought into the fiery commie Kool-aid, lock, stock & barrel, so she's obviously not a deep thinker. All one would have to do is look around a bit, read a few newspapers, see a few news reports to see that communism just doesn't work. There is no communist country with a high standard of living. Her desire to make over the greatest democracy that ever was into a Cuba clone will be as futile as a moth beating its wings against a glass window.
This, and her blatant anti-semitism completes her resume as one of the "new" dummocraps, AKA out-and-out commies. This is not the dummocrap party of our fathers and grandfathers. This is CPUSA. I hope her unsophisticated blatant message serves to make the dummocrap party repugnant to any thinking person.
