It was the greatest lie ever told in my opinion. Totally driven by the left aided by the press and the sheeple dumbness of the people. Nixon did nothing. Great man . Disagreed on price controls. He actually won the Vietnam war and got our prisoners back. Even song bird mccain. But the Democrats then cut off military support to the south so the north invaded. We murdered those people.
The deal with the North Vietnamese was that they would send back half of the 1208 POWs upon agreement, and the other half when Congress voted $350 million to repair some of the damage in the war. 604 were sent back, but after Nixon resigned, Congress (almost 2/3 Demonrat) reneged on the deal, and the other 604 POWs were never returned. Most died in captivity, while a few dozen escaped or were rescued. It is certain that prisoners were alive in Laos as late as 1996 (I’ve seen the photographs). McCain, Rumsfeld, and Kerry swore that no prisoners remained as of 1991.
Historical note: Truman/Eisenhower left more than 100 prisoners in North Korea at the end of the war. Neither Demonrats nor Republicans said a word. How do we know it was more than 100? Because more than 100 escaped after we abandoned them.
