Wednesday’s retirement announcement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy sparked strong reactions from both right and left, but the takes from so-called #NeverTrumpers, or ideological conservatives who opposed President Trump in 2016, ranged from “crickets” to eating some much-deserved crow.

I wish Fox News would lose the Never Trumper losers, namely Chris Stirewalt. He never gives Trump a break, never the benefit of the doubt. He would do much better as a (so-called) Republican on MSNBC alongside Morning Joke and Steve Schmidt. “You bet”, Chris.
Trump is not turning scotus for “ a generation”. He is turning it for generations!!! We won the election!!!

Trump never gave them a reason to think other than they did. All they had at that point were the words out of his mouth, and no past history to make anybody think that those words had any validity. An ounce of experience is worth a pound of theory, but until you've had the experience you simply don't know.
Reality: Our lives and liberties lie in constant peril from a usurping SCOTUS, made up of only of lawyers, subject to their whims for their lifetimes. No matter how well intentioned President Trump might be, he cannot control the outcome. The SCOTUS will be our ruin.
Wasn’t Levin a NeverTrumper?
The marvelous Trump trait is that he proves all his doubters, all of his critics, on almost every topic WRONG! The last vestige of “Never Trumper” criticism remains on ‘trade.’ Watch Trump make Levin and all the other trade “Doubting Thomases” eat crow on that one too. I chuckle now when I occasionally turn on Levin, how he behaves as if he was always a stanch Trump supporter. But, I have my memory and his archives to prove how sickening he was day out and day in during the primary. I have never heard him utter a clear mea culpa. For a guy that prides himself on being so right on everything, he is now left clinging to ‘trade’ and almost every show includes his harangue on trade as if repeating his points will make them right. I suppose on this one he hopes he can finally say “I told you so.”
Completely obnoxious to boot.

Not true. It comes down to how perceptive you are in judging individuals. If you have ever studied and observed leadership, you would know.

I add Bush-worshipping! Bush-butt-kissing, Dana Perino to that list. Every time something positive is said about Trump on “The Five”, the first word out of her feckless mouth is, “But...” I actually respect Juan more than her; he doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. Except maybe a Christian. He says he’s one, but supports very un-Christian policies and values.
Not so with Goldberg, Williamson, Cooke, Nordlinger, even French can't really shake it. They seem to be in it for the long haul.

I got the feeling Rush was, too, but watched his mouth for the sake of his audience and ratings.
I could be wrong, but I always felt that the most rabid of them were dealing with green-eyed monster issues when it came to Trump. Women get a bad rap when it comes to jealousy. But these guys went off the rails.
Rush wasn’t a Never Trumper. He had other candidates he preferred (as did I) but once Trump was the nominee, Rush was very supportive and felt that Clinton must be defeated. To me, the mark of a Never Trumper was that they threatened to switch their allegiance to Hillary. Rush never came close to that. I think the term has lost its meaning with some.
