NEVERTRUMPERS EAT CROW AS PRESIDENT LOOKS TO TURN SCOTUS RIGHT FOR A GENERATION
The DC ^ | 11:34 PM 06/27/2018 | SCOTT MOREFIELD

Posted on 06/29/2018 10:51:19 PM PDT by conservative98

Wednesday’s retirement announcement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy sparked strong reactions from both right and left, but the takes from so-called #NeverTrumpers, or ideological conservatives who opposed President Trump in 2016, ranged from “crickets” to eating some much-deserved crow.

They should be too embarrassed to show their faces, but they still do.

I’ve thought the same about the pollsters who botched the election results so badly.

Who in their right minds would believe anything they say about anything given their miserable failure in 2016?

Reading the post of other Freepers I see references to the “experts”. I have come to the conclusions experts (especially political pundits) know nothing. They are nothing more then whores selling their voice to the highest bidder.

There are several videos on You Tube where all the experts (except for Ann) who claimed first Trump would not run a race, and then would not receive the nomination and last could not win the election.

It was all wishful thinking. None of them gave a moment of reflection on the history of Hillary, her unlikability, her health and the scandals that have followed her since Arkansas.

They did not give a moment reflection on a business man that has made (lost) and made a fortune. Instead they just made jokes.

Well the jokes are on the experts. They have not been right about anything (global warming, how to improve the economy, when to go to war, Korea, tariffs and so on).

I laugh at them and their stupid opinions.

Trump never gave them a reason to think other than they did. All they had at that point were the words out of his mouth...

Which is enough.

I knew from the first minute of the first Republican debate that I was finally watching a so-called politician who wasn’t lying to me with every second breath.
A guy who said “there’s little room in my life for political correctness” and explained how people “buy” favors from politicians by way of donations - wow!
I’m STILL floored by that. If these “intellectual” giants couldn’t perceive that and at least accept that Trump intended to try and fulfill his campaign promises, it’s a fault in THEIR perception, or the result of their own biases, since they would have no doubt preferred some stuffed shirt loser (like Jeb! or Little Marco) as the Republican candidate.

Extremely. And he was quite vile about it.

I got the feeling Rush was, too, but watched his mouth for the sake of his audience and ratings.

Absolutely.

In spite of the BS he spews now like “I understand Donald Trump more than anyone else alive...” or “I was the first one who knew that Donald Trump could win!” I CLEARLY remember the smug, contemptuous way he treated Trump during the primaries - gleefully reading every anti-Trump article he could get his hands on (which were, of course, endless) and cutting off pro-Trump callers because there was always a far more important Lifelock commercial waiting in the wings just in case one got through.

Har, Har....

Steve What’s his name on Brett’s panel picked President Trump as his weekly winner and then not able to resist his Never Trump mind set, chose President trump as his loser.

It was just comical to see the crow feathers in his beard

Yep. One of the first people who should have known better squealed like a stuck pig right up to the election.

...and why? Something about some kind of petty jealousy with his girlfriend and her kid.

Levin can go get screwed too along with the rest of them like Lowry, French, and EggMcMuffin.

He most absolutely was. He yelled and screamed in that awful voice day after day about how awful Trump was and how he was going to ruin the Repub party, more specifically, conservatism.

“I got the feeling Rush was, too, but watched his mouth for the sake of his audience and ratings.”

Exactly right.

In Q4 2015, Rush was pushing Rubio and/or Cruz.

Rush’s use of “Trumpists” at the time was an epithet.

I wondered who had gotten to him. Was he threatened by the establishment? Then I realized, he was running Rubio and Cruz ads and airtime isn’t free.

Then Rush said sometime in 2017, “I was always with Trump”. Almost fell out of my chair.

Not sure if you remember the Cruz / Trump battles out here when we Trump supporters were called every name in the book?

"Remember when Hugh Hewitt was trashing Trump on his knowledge of foreign policy and military affairs."

Maybe I need a journey down the road to forgiveness, however 2015-2016 was my "Great Disillusionment". All of our Conservative Talkers and our Sultan's of Smart that went Never Trump on us I turned off and never went back.

Think of it, It is what "Q" the Late Mark Scott here in MI, and so many others used to say, their isn't a dimes worth of difference and at this point the RNC leadership is controlled opposition to the Swampian addiction racket of K-Street, The Chamber of Commerce, and all the other forces that played us.

Never again, I won't be played.

I am on to our talkers. So many play the come here and listen to me so we can commiserate in our mutual bitch session and feel better on how bad things are.

No dang it, I want it fixed, that what President Trump Represents things finally getting fixed and they can't have it, they want more band-aids as they play Nurse Rachet. And when things get fixed they are screwed they are all out of a job and they know it, that goes for El-Rushbo too, he wasn't all in and didn't get it. I gave up on him and now listen Jeff Kuhner and I am never looking back.

Left in the wake as we move towards functionality and not being played are, Hewitt, Beck, Kristol, Will, Krauthammer, Levin and Rush ( the last two finally get it ) and that is just the talkers, we won't even get into the politicans....

And then there is this opus by one of FR’s most obnoxious never-Trumpers:

“You are all freaking low class jerks. The Heidi thread has been pulled multiple times. Free Republic has become trump derangement central. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BUNCH OF CONSERVATIVES SO PICKY, PETTY AND STUPID - STUPID FREAKING LOSERS YOU DAMN DEFEND TRUMP AS IF HE WERE A FREAKING BABY BECAUSE HE IS! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL.”

Wacko Never Trumpers like Jonah Goldberg and John Podhoretz now tell themselves and anyone else who will listen that a) any Republican president would have done the good things that Trump has done, b) Mitch M. is the one who deserves credit for Gorsuch, and c) there’s no peace breaking out between the US and North Korea.

All ridiculous on the face of it. Has a majority Senate ever voted down a SC nomination from its own party? Surely it would be the exception rather than the rule, Gorsuch was clearly Trump’s pick, and we have lots of GOP presidents whiffing on their nominees.

Yup Cavuto was the one who had the first telephone interview with Romney when Romney said that there were bombshells in Trumps tax returns. How would he know that?

Cavuto never interrupted Romney while he went on a Trump trashing tirade.

Then during the primaries Cavuto would always had the drunken Charlie Gasparino on his panel to trash Trump every time.

I have NOT watched him since.

Some I forgave and will still listen too occasionally. Rush, Levine and Prager.

Others I am done with for good: Medved, Beck, Hewitt, Shapiro.

Oh and Sean Hannity is a true patriot and deserves the Medal of freedom. (in my opinion).

I agree with you completely. IMHO, we can talk about winning all we want, but considering the formidable array against us (press, academia, corporate boards, even some in upper echelons of LE or military), the future of America is still on a knife edge. Guys like Shapiro and French (though French still has some coming around to do) are sharp as tacks and I am more than happy to have them on my side.

OTOH, Rubin, Frum, Schmidt, Will, etc. have not been worth anything for years (or maybe ever) and they are welcome to ESAD.
