I have a simple solution for the neighbor, just tell the kid to cut the other half and pay him for both!
There is more at play here than just going over the line. The area under discussion is what about 4 feet? No, it is a racial thing. Racial + asshole= Problems. Sorry for that but it is what it is. IMO, this had nothing to do with a kid’s error, it was just the fuse on a long standing feud.
People like the ones that called the cops on this kid would not like me if I were the President. If I were, I would have one person, whose only job would be to scan the internet for stuff like this. Confirm it and then ridicule these people until they couldn’t take it anymore.
Grown ass people can’t go outside and talk to the kid? You have some hard working kid out there, trying to make a buck, when most have their faces in a phone or iPad, and they have to bust his balls. I hope the entire community shames them to the point that they have to move. I wonder what the cops did. They’d be filing a courtesy complaint on me after I got done busting their ballz.

I agree with you, but in the modern day it's likely that someone whips out a cell phone and the next thing you know you're tagged as a racist all over the internet and news sites due to some edited video work. Still no reason to call the police.

I actually could see it being more of a fear thing, not “racism” between races related, rather stereotype “racism”.
But, what are most black 12 year olds doing? Stereotypically, not being industrious, entrepreneurial.
And it looks like possibly an older neighborhood.
So if you have an older person in that house, a bunch of “yutes” climbing all over, making noise (from that person’s perspective), could have all been fear related.
Feud could also come into play.

I’m just thinking of my own neighborhood. I used to cut the grass for a neighbor when her son was playing HS baseball. There were weeks she was traveling on weekends. I KNOW I occasionally cut a strip or two of her neighbors yard on my tractor. No one ever complained. We were just neighbors helping neighbors. Most yards don’t have bright yellow lines painted on the grass delineating property lines. Give the kid a break. If it had been my yard I probably wouldn’t have noticed unless he went two or three swaths and even then I could care less.

I think this is really about the aggrieved having the opportunity to claim “victim status”, and not letting it slip by.
How about go over and congratulate the kid for having the spirit to work when so many young punks sit inside and play videos and surf the net. My hat is off to him. Some nosy neighbors are just pukes.
What an ass tying up police for this! My neighbors lawn people mow over some on my property too...all the time. I look at as one less area I have to push a mower. I only wish they made bigger screw ups.

You must be so much fun at parties. The owner of the property who hired the kid is the one who is responsible for showing him the property markers. Do you really expect a twelve year old to have a survey of the land or to recognize boundary markers?
