Officials say San Francisco will become the first major U.S. city to increase its minimum wage to $15 an hour Sunday under a ballot measure approved by voters in 2014.
City Administrator Naomi Kelly says it will be the first to hit the milestone for all workers. But it wont be the last. California lawmakers approved a plan two years ago to increase the states $10 minimum to $15 by 2022. [ ]
Advocates have been urging a $15 minimum, saying workers need a living wage to survive.

It will soon be the trendy thing in all San Fransicko restaurants, for people to provide their own service and bus their own tables. Probably even wash their own dishes.
This will not end well. Expect victims of the Law of Unintended Consequences to start piling up by year end.

There are also restaurants, already, having their customers serve themselves. No wait staff, just the cook staff and someone to bring the food to the table.

What about the people who are in more highly-skilled jobs and are already making $15? Will they get paid the same as the person who changes out the urinal cakes, or will their wages have to be raised to reflect the higher value of their labor?

I predict, this will be completely repealed.
They’ve had roughly four years to prepare for this, so I assume anyone who cannot or will not pay has either gone out of business, relocated, or reduced staff.
As soon as they can purchase robotic wait staff, cooks, and greeters you can bet they will at the drop of a hat.
And the unemployed will blame everyone and everything except the real culprits.
My first job as a bus boy paid $1.00 an hour, plus a percentage of the waiters tips.
I worked at the St.Johns diner next to the OTB on Liberty Ave and Lefferts Blvd.
Henry Hill and the Vario/Lucchese crew were regular customers.
Pretty sure the waiters would be busing the tables if the bus boys were being paid $15 an hour.
