Lindsey Graham: 'Fake news' to say Russia did not meddle in US election
The Hill ^ | July 1, 2018 | Emily Birnbaum

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday said it is “fake news” to say that Russia did not meddle in the 2016 presidential election.

“The idea that Russia did not meddle in our election is fake news,” Graham said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“They did meddle in our election and they're doing it again in 2018,” he added.

President Trump said on Friday that he will press Russian President Vladimir Putin on Moscow's meddling during their meeting later this month.

“We don’t want anyone tampering with elections," Trump said, promising Russia’s interference in U.S. elections will be on the summit’s agenda.

Trump has previously denied that Russia influenced the 2016 election, despite an assessment from U.S. intelligence agencies confirming some degree of interference.

As recently as Thursday, Trump tweeted that Moscow says it did not interfere.

“Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!" Trump tweeted. "Where is the DNC Server, and why didn’t Shady James Comey and the now disgraced FBI agents take and closely examine it? Why isn’t Hillary/Russia being looked at? So many questions, so much corruption!"

Trump and Putin are slated to meet July 16 in Helsinki, at the end of Trump's scheduled trip to Europe to attend a summit with NATO allies and stop in the United Kingdom.

Critics say Trump's summit with Putin is ill-advised, considering special counsel Robert Mueller is currently conducting an investigation into Russia’s interference in the election.

U.S. national security adviser John Bolton on Wednesday argued that such criticism is “complete nonsense.”

"The president determined that, despite the political noise in the U.S., direct communication between him and President Putin was in the interest of the United States, in the interest of Russia, and in the interest of peace and security around the world,” Bolton said.

On “Meet the Press,” Graham said he supports the meeting but hopes Trump will come out strongly against Russia’s actions.

“I would urge President Trump work with Russia in Syria,” Graham said. “We have to deal with Russia. They're a power throughout the world. But let Putin know that what he did in the past is unacceptable.”

“Most importantly, if you continue to undermine our democracy and others, you're going to pay a heavy price,” Graham added. “If Putin doesn't understand that after this summit, then we've made, then we’ve made a big mistake.”

If Russia meddled in our election it was done to help Hillary.

They were the source of many of the lies for the Trump dossier. Later in the general election their spreading of discord was mainly to hurt Hilalry who they expected to win. But their efforts were minor, less than $100k in a multi billion dollar election.

“Lindsey, explain how they meddled. What did they do and when?”

Linda went to a different type law school, one where just knowing something happened is proof enough to convict.

I assume most nations meddle, ourselves included, but without citing supportive facts it is only conjecture on my part.

Major nations always “meddle” in other countries’ elections. It was ever thus and will not cease in the future. Uncle Sam has done it as a matter of course at least since WWII. Obama did it pretty close to Overtly in Israel. All the shock and indignation now is simply the attempt to oust the current President.

Actually Russia’s less-than-penny ante meddling was distributed. Russia’s goal is disruption and sowing distrust with the system.

Still looking for the proof of meddling. The fact that some Russians commented on American politics over the internet is no more meddling than the internet comments of the EU’s America haters. And the Obama regime did more than its share of meddling in the politics of other nations, such as Israel, Britain, and Columbia.

Linda, Linda, Linda, throw it out there.

What did Russia do?

Did they give Trump questions in advance of a debate?

Did they throw Trump into an SS van like a sack of potatoes?

Did they schedule Hillary to NOT campaign in must win states?

Did they disparage half the nation by calling them deplorables?

Did they set-up a Uranium-One deal to benefit the Clinton Foundation?

Did they give millions upon millions to the Clinton Foundation laundered through Saudi Arabia and now they have stopped?

Did they murder Seth Rich?

Bitch

“Has any voter ever come forward to say that his vote was based on what Russians told him?”

Mine was. Everybody who takes their orders from the Russians was telling me how great Felonia von Pantsuit was, so I voted for Trump.

Okay, so I would have voted for President Trump anyway, and would have died before voting for the Arkansas Medusa. The point is that the propaganda was all in favor of the horrible monster who killed Vince Foster.

It’s also #FakeNews to say that any Russian meddling was more than negligible.

They need to just throw it out there.

If Russia was putting ads on Facebutt, I don’t care.

This is a witch-hunt into the Presidents ass going back 50 years.
