Devin Nunes warns Obama officials: Willingly testify on Russia investigation or face subpoenas

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., warned that if Obama administration officials he referred to a congressional task force for testimony on the Russia investigation refuse to cooperate, they will face subpoenas.

Nunes wrote a letter Monday to House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., with a list of 10 names from the Obama-era State Department and White House on Monday, urging them to interview these individuals in an "open setting."

During a Monday evening interview on Fox News, Nunes emphasized that because all the people on his list are American citizens, they can be compelled to testify.

"They can plead the Fifth," he told host Laura Ingraham. "This isn't going to be like the documents where we've had to continue to fight with the Justice Department in order to have access to documents. This is much different. These are all American citizens. They will, if they do not agree to appear under oath, and testify, then they will be subpoenaed. That I could tell you for sure."

but what will he do, when they ignore his subpoena, with contempt and impunity, and I am sure they will?

That comes to the test on June 6, when the full weight the House gets put to the test by [RR] Rosenstein. If he fails to comply with the subpoena to turn over documents, then I'm guessing that Trump orders it. Then we will see what we will see.

Either way, [RR] is toast. The documents will most likely implicate him, at the least get him to recuse, at the most fired. Then a Trump guy takes his spot and then it's "let's get it on" and "bring the PAIN." Things will start to move much faster with [RR] out of the way.

After that, we'll see how those additional subpoenas go. This Drama just got hot.

The incorrupt ones, will force the subpoenas, but will testify and it will be against the corrupt ones.

The larger question is (and if “oversight committee” history repeats, we already know the answer) will these committees actually do anything? We’ve seen these dog and pony shows before. It seems all these “oversight” committees do is present a public forum for Democrats and Republicans to demonstrate how much they can politicize these crimes and there is zero real justice served. What he’ll expose with the testimony of these people is that the surveillance on the Trump, if not other campaigns, was coordinated by the Obama State department and begun much earlier than the FBI and DOJ admitted to. In other words,as Devin Nunes stated, the democrats have bllod on their hands by having fed information from Hillary Clinton’s minions into the intelligence agencies and the department of justice to fabricate a reason to spy on an opposing candidates campaign.
