Evolutionists: 'Oops! We May Have Been Wrong All Along'
PJ Media ^ | JUNE 29, 2018 | John Ellis

Thanks to a new study, evolutionists and their disciples are having to reexamine some of their most revered dogma. Particularly, evolutionists are now having to make sense of conclusions stating that almost all animal species, as well as humans, showed up on the stage of human history at the same time.

One of the constants of science is that science is constantly revising as it is challenged by new data, new theories, and new ways of observing and measuring data, not to mention the changes in scientific ideology molded by larger worldview shifts. Thomas Kuhn's landmark book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions provides a compelling argument for how scientific paradigms evolve, shift, and even jump to completely different tracks. However, within the many disciplines of science, evolution and evolutionists have remained dogmatic about the necessity of remaining committed to certain a priori assumptions. Well, as it turns out, some of evolution's most revered a priori assumptions are now crumbling in the face of new research.

A study published in the journal Human Evolution is causing quite the stir. In the words of Phys.org, "The study's most startling result, perhaps, is that nine out of 10 species on Earth today, including humans, came into being 100,000 to 200,000 years ago."

So startling, in fact, that according to David Thaler, one of the lead authors of the study, "This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could."

The study's very own author was so disturbed by how the conclusions challenged current scientific dogma that he "fought against it as hard as [he] could." His "fight" gives credence to the study's conclusions. His eventual acceptance, not to mention publication, of the conclusions speaks well of Thaler's commitment to being a scientist first and an ideologue second.

‘I generally feel that Evolution is a cult which first establishes its Conclusion and holds on to it come what may. Any new evidence is shoe-horned in to support the sacred Conclusion.’

yes, of course, exactly the opposite of the way Biblical literalists operate...

Matter is incredibly complex. The way DNA folds itself so precisely is an example. The blueprint for life is embedded in the tiniest subatomic particle, which God created.

Life would have started deep underground. There are organisms, for instance, that respire iron instead of oxygen. That’s how it would have started. And it wouldn’t have been a cell. That would have come later.

I read an article about this last month and am still laughing.

I also lead a Trail Life USA troop. As Troopmaster, I have the honor of starting each meeting with a short discussion we call Wisdom of the Wild.

Here’s what I shared with the boys in our troop that week.

The psalmist wrote As for God, his ways are perfect. His word is flawless.

Yesterday, I read an about something that has scientists perplexed.

In a massive genetic study, research scientists have proved that 90% of animal species appeared at right around the same time, about the same time as humans appeared.

Hmmmm. Wonder how that could have happened?

So, one of the scientists invented a way of separating DNA to some specific genes and some way of determining the age of when the certain genes first appeared. He likened it to counting rings on a tree.

But, since he has no control data, I don’t think his conclusion is absolutely correct.

Their conclusion is that 90% of species occurred at roughly the same time, 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

Try this on for size…

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24 And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

So, on the fifth day, God created birds and fish. On Day six, he turned his attention to mammals. Animals and man.

The biblical account is clear that God created the earth in six literal 24 hour days. That happened about 6000 years ago.

These scientists believe that earth is 65 billion years old. That’s just a letter of faith for them and that something occurred to kill off everything and start over with evolution all happening at the exact same time 100,000 or so years ago.

This is a quote from the article
As to how that could have happened, it’s unclear. A likely possibility is the occurrence of a sudden event that caused large-scale environmental trauma and wiped out majority of the Earth’s species.
“Viruses, ice ages, successful new competitors, loss of prey — all these may cause periods when the population of an animal drops sharply,” explains Jesse Ausubel, director of the Program for the Human Environment.
Such times give rise to sweeping genetic changes across the planet, causing new species to appear. However, the last time such an occurrence took place was 65 million years ago, when an asteroid hit the Earth and killed off the dinosaurs and half of all other species on the planet.
End quote
One of the scientists was really shaken by their conclusions because it goes against everything he believes. He said “This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could.”
I appreciate his science and the discovery of DNA, for it does truly prove the biblical account of creation is correct. I wish these scientists would include it in their conclusions.
Then they would be able to walk worthy

No way. That stuff is unreadable. I’m sure a second hand book for a buck is available on Amazon.

Biblical literalists are completely upfront about operating that way. “In the beginning was the Word.” We start with the conclusion as a matter of faith.

Scientists pretend that they don’t do that.

Yep... once you have that first cell... evolution is 90% complete.

Fine Print: you just can’t get that first cell with any “natural” explanation (aka: speculation). So they go running off into outer space looking for the “seed”.

Then you have explain the remaining 10%... like why things like wings, eyes, etc. with a clear purpose, somehow “evolved by accident with no design”.

#RustyIrony... ANY “explanation” (actually speculation) but ID (aka: God did it) is acceptable, no matter how screwy or absurd. Modern “political” (settled) science... gotta love it!

that animals naturally breed to improve their “stock”

But they don't. And I speak as an animal breeder. When a female is in heat any male will mount her and it does not matter if he is the best, just the closest.

That is human bred livestock is many times superior to their wild brothers. Larger, stronger, healthier.

...and the Koran too. Darwin used micro evolution as proofs of macro-evolution. Micro-evolution is well documented. It is also, as it turns out, completely unrelated to macro-evolution for reasons that Darwin could not even imagine.

And that ignores the countless extinct fossil species.

I’m not going to bandy words over this for much longer. I’m reading Darwin (horrors!) and enjoying it. That does not mean I am a Darwinist or an evolutionist. I’m just a curious reader unlike a lot of folks on FR.

Except harem animals will have a dominant male who would chase off any lesser male who attempts that.

Yes, Jefferson read the Koran. I don’t get people who are incurious. Darwin also writes in clear, precise, easy-to-read prose unlike modern-day scientists and almost anybody in the academy.

“I don’t really see evolution as threatening the idea of God.”

It doesn’t. But people in positions of authority - teachers and professors - have used evolution to lead many millions astray.

That’s bad.

‘for it does truly prove the biblical account of creation is correct.’

which one...? the one where man is created last, or the one where he’s created first...?
