Teacher collective bargaining is a right guaranteed in the Florida constitution, noted Tallahassee lawyer Ron Meyer, who is representing the plaintiffs.

Any guesses on how that “right” got into the state Constitution?

It is similar in California where it is in the Constitution that 50% of the State Budget go to “education” - wonder how that got put into the Constitution.

While I do not know for certain, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was ratified by FL voters at the polling place. I despise direct democracy; it has done enormous damage to FL law.
