Summer sea ice is causing havoc for shipping in the Arctic. This is the same Arctic sea ice that climate change experts predicted would have vanished by 2013.
According to the Barents Observer:
It is late June, but the winter has not abandoned the Gulf of Ob. The shallow bay, which houses two of Russias biggest Arctic out-shipment terminals for oil and gas, remains packed with fast ice.
It has created a complicated situation, Rosatomflot says. The state company which manages the Russian nuclear-powered icebreakers, confirms that independent shipping in the area is «paralysed» and that LNG carriers and tankers are stuck.
Global warming? What global warming?
«The global warming, which there has been so much talk about for such a long time, seems to have receded a little and we are returning to the standards of the 1980s and 1990s,» says company representative Andrey Smirnov.
As the Climatism blog notes, all this summer ice rather contradicts what the experts have been telling us for many years.

There have been several articles over the past couple of years on G-Captain about shipping companies attempting to develop NW passage shipping.
It would be ironic to see one of these ships get froze in for the winter.

I flew over Iceland and Greenland last week.
So much ice it was easy to see from 40k ft.
Funny thing though! My browser didn't find a single metion of "ice" in the entire article. How can that possibly be? I thought melting sea ice was the single biggest proof of Global Warming??
I decided to leave a comment after the article, but Nat Geo apparently doesn't allow online comments. Perhaps they feel confident that all their words are SS (Settled Science), so what would be the point in allowing comments?
Though they do give you the opportunity to do a Facebook or Twitter "Like" on their articles. How generous and brave of them to allow us that opportunity.
We do not have one of these either (up close and personal with an ice breaker at speed)
Truckers have near miss
where's ours? Mostly help together with glue, bailing wire and duct tape and most inoperable except for short periods.
Now the National Hurricane Center is backtracking on named storm forecasts because the Atlantic is COLDER than normal.
but, but, its so hot outside. It has to be global warming! ###
It’s worth reading (for laughs) this BBC article from 2007 ominously predicting an ice free arctic in 2013. Also worth sending to any warmist acquaintances together with the article of this thread and enjoy seeing their heads explode.
