Mexico’s new president doesn’t want Mexicans to have to immigrate to the US

Mexico elected a new president Sunday and his win should impact the U.S. debate over immigration.

In his acceptance speech Andrés Manuel López Obrador, vowed to root out corruption in Mexico, even if found among his friends and family. And he told Mexico’s poor that he would fight for them first. He also had a special message for immigrants.

He said those who want to “emigrate should do so for pleasure, not out of necessity.”

He said he would first work to tackle poverty in Mexico. An estimated 44 percent of Mexicans live below the poverty line and 7.6 percent in extreme poverty, according to Coneval, a Mexican social development agency.

“We will respect everyone. But we will give preference to the most humble and forgotten,” he said after being confirmed the winner by the current president Enrique Peña Nieto of the PRI party that lost power for the first time in 2000 and regained it in 2012.

Mexican presidents serve six years and cannot be re-elected.

This demented socialist will throw the Mexican economy into a dive.

Give them 6 years to see the Mexican state oil company decline to Venezuela levels....ie ...defunct.

These types say that the reason that socialism and communism have failed everywhere, is because it just wasn’t implemented properly.

This bothers me every single day. They never give up and it slowly erodes this country.

It’s like telling your spouse having an open marriage failed for all those other people because they didn’t do it right, but it will work fine for you guys.

In five years Mexico will be just like Venezuela.

All you write is very true. It hasn't really been any different Presidente after Presidente ever since Mexico became a “country!” Thirty years ago when I was a member of the California Republican Assembly, I commented at a local meeting that the solution at that time was for the US to invade Mexico and run it like we did in Germany and Japan after WWII. My comment was not well received, but in hindsight, it would have been the cheapest solution to the problem. Now, that will never happen, and our only viable solution is to prevent any illegal migration from the south of us. And it's not just Mexico, or even Central America. there are some 600 milion people who live between our southern border and Tierra del Fuego. They can't all come here, but they will try. There isn't one single country to the south of us that hasn't from time to time had a revolt, and none of them are what you would call “stable democracies.” If we don't act now, it is just a matter of time until we end up just like all the rest of the Western Hemisphere, and that includes those RATs in Canada with their “allegiance” to The Queen.

Corporations are the canary in the coal mine. If you see Ford and Whirlpool suddenly moving assets north of the border, you know the death spiral has begun. One expects that they learned from Venezuela that they risk government takeover if they stick around.

If I were elected President of Mexica I would seriously consider asking Donald Trump what the f to do to clean up my countries centuries old mess.

Trump would likely call in Duterte to handle the drug Lords for sure as night turns into day that is problem # 1.

Inauguration is Dec. 1st. If he makes it to then, I say... Dec. 14th.

Yeah he was saying that at first. Now something must have dawned on him that there was going to be a price to pay or he might have been trying to get votes. Don’t know why he would have to tell those stupid beaners they have a right to barge in here. They have that sense of entitlement anyway.

I think that’s why he was elected. He is a leftist loony, but he at least realizes or admits that the problem is that life in Mexico, for Mexicans, is unlivable and they are losing their best people to the US.

Around 10% of Mexico’s population already lives here.
If Mexico wants more of its citizens to be Americans, we can save everyone the trouble and annex more of that country.
