What you are obviously ignorant about is the actual effects. Somebody that uses it regularly does not even get high.

Oh you do. You just got used to it..you assimilated it as part of you and your personality. The bottom line isyour body is now dependent on it. The body is tricky thing when it comes to pain. If your body craves a high (which it does when you use pot or opiods for instance) it will literally manufacture pain in order to trick you into taking more of the substance. This is exactly what the story in the posted article is talking about when it says that pain INCREASES with pot use.

I know personal stories don’t mean anything to you, but maybe somebody else reading this will understand. After it became legal here I can make a batch of edibles for about 1/10 the price of a bottle of cbd oil and it works the same for me.

That's funny that you are able to use CBD oil, which you says works, and won't get you high, yet you prefer to use something that gets you high. Is that about right? And you cite cost as the reason?

See there you go making assumptions again... any clue whatsoever what CHRONIC pain really is?? I said no high, not no affect, you know tolerance... like with alcohol or opiods you need more to make you feel the same effect?? Well Marijuana is not like that at all, you only get so high, you cant keep smoking and get higher. Gallagher did a joke about it back in the day and it was funny because it was true. Don’t smoke weed when your high, you don’t get higher you just have less weed. In my case, because I am not doing it for the high, the amount I eat has not changed in over 3 years now since I went to these edibles. Yes I am a cheap bastard, so if it is $100 for a bottle of CBD and I can get what I need to make edibles for 2-3 weeks for $20 then yeah that’s the way I go.

Thing is, if it was not illegal for my entire life, I would have grown it myself and never spent a dime on it... If the feds would get the hell out of the way, I would go into that industry to work because I need a new career, carpel tunnel issues are coming on hard after all these years using a mouse way too many hours a day. I cant come up with something else I actually enjoy doing for work like I do drawing besides the fun I had growing for the first year we had grow rights here before they set up dispensaries... I miss growing much more than any high from smoking it...

If you go back to high school health class you might remember we learned marijuana was NOT physically addictive like nicotine, alcohol or opiods and much other big pharma crap... Those will and DO cause physical withdrawl symptoms when you stop... That is why people steal to fund their opiod or meth/cocaine habits and NOT for weed.

All the edible does for me is allows me to go to sleep at night, instead of wrything in pain all night and keeping both of us awake. Curious how you think someone would enjoy a high while you sleep?? I eat an edible and go to bed most nights but not every night. All good in your book if a doctor prescribed an oxycodone to do the same thing though right?? I have had chronic back issues since I was a kid, my mom would ask me why are you sleeping on the floor instead of in bed, well before ever starting sports, Then pop warner + high school football plus wrestling heavyweight and guys that were over 100# more than me, to top it off a car accident at 18 I got tossed out of the car and I got a ruptured disk. It is fused now, naturally, not from surgery and I can predict the rain pretty good in the dry months, monsoon season is pure pain. If I am not going anywhere or don’t have anything to do during the day, instead of sitting here in pain, sometimes I will eat an extra one, an edible is not remotely like close to the high that was when I used to smoke it, you get tired, maybe take a nap, does that sound like high? Kids that want a weed high wont eat it as an edible.

I did not start smoking m/j until early 20’s by then I was married and my wife (of 32 years now) and I both figured she would be pushing me around in a wheelchair before I hit 40. I could sneeze my back out and be in bed for 2 days. So please, tell me again, how it has increased the pain level I have lived with my whole life. It was going without numerous times that made me realize my recreational smoking had been self medicating to relieve the pain and realized how much it actually worked to make me not notice the continual pain. I live with it every day, but with an edible I can sleep at night...

Our oldest son got the same defect, we talked to his doctor when he was pretty young and was told it is just growing pains... he became a mechanic and did something that required laser surgery ($10K) at 22 years old and STILL has the same chronic pain I have lived with and he has never touched the evil weed, why would he, its not cool because we did and it was not taboo, he wants that legal poison, we preached against, Crown Royal... So far so good, he is managing it, He too needs to figure things out for himself. I just know too many people who thought they controlled it, until they realized they didn’t.

My old fishing and drinking buddy from when I first got here to Arizona for tech school and started legally drinking at 18, used to drink half the beer I would put away on a weekend trip back then and he is up to a gallon of cheap whiskey a week now... He is a functional alcoholic, averages about 3 years at a job for the last 30 now. I could make the argument the evil weed kept me from being the exact same or worse of a drunk, it is the reason I quit drinking, I did not like the way I felt in the morning after alcohol, I could smoke a little socially and wake up and function in the morning. Mixed with alcohol though LOOK OUT... it is REALLY bad news!!

For comparison, I have 34 years at the same career I came here to go to school for, Drafting, I have averaged a buck an hour/year raises over that career and never been fired from a job. I taught myself Autocad about 25+ years ago (whatever year Acad R10 was) and recently self taught myself Revit, a 3D BIM program that MANY people told me don’t waste your time, I would not be able to transition to, without taking some classes.

I am not trying to make it out as a wonder drug, cure all for everybody, It works for my back pain, but wont touch carpel tunnel issues. What is is NOT, is what it has been made out to be for years with our government blowing smoke up our ass and it should be legal for any adult to use or grow and should not be regulated any different than tomatoes or peppers are... I mean poppies are legal to grow for God sake, it is only illegal to make them into heroin!
