As a meeting last August in the Oval Office to discuss sanctions on Venezuela was concluding, President Donald Trump turned to his top aides and asked an unsettling question: With a fast unraveling Venezuela threatening regional security, why can't the U.S. just simply invade the troubled country? [Oh, my. The MSM never stops trying, do they?]

What could go wrong?
last August?
Joshua Goodman is Scoop Cunningham.
I would think by now his top aides would not leak... unless they leak intentionally.
A leak like this may help destabilize the dictatorship enough to topple it without having to lift a finger.
Boy, that doesn’t pass the sniff test, does it?
AP attempting to smear Trump was crazy war monger. He was probably trying to figure out how to provide the people aid once it all falls apart.
And Venezuela’s looking like it’s going to flip any time.
The greatest danger of this leak is it will give the people of Venezuela false hope.
You believe this crap?
One well placed cruise missile on one well guarded palacial estate on the hills overlooking Caracas.
I’m pretty far on the anti-interventionist side, but I don’t see why a Commander-in-Chief would not ask that question. Trump has said before that we should’ve at least have kept the oil in Iraq after invading, I could see him looking at it and saying, the government is corrupt, not popular, the people are suffering, but the country has oil. A case could be made for going in.

Unless they have a named source who’s willing to go on record, this is just more outright News Misleadia lying.
Unnamed aides like the unnamed 5 Intel personnel who stated N. Korea had restarted fuel enrichment .... not much credibility without a name ... could be just step-n-fetch-it aides that shine his shoes, fetch laundry, taste his food, etc. trying to get a free pat on the head from the Marxist State Media.
Fake news.
Like we would run a sh *thoke of a country.
The notion is insane and quite frankly beneath America.
I have no doubts our Federal Government is corrupt. I suspect it is being run by the Justice Department and I strongly suspect a group of lawyers are behind it all.
Well, it wouldnt be the first time that weve invaded a neighboring country. It would give us an opportunity to return all of the Venezuelans that are currently in the United States. Hey, while we are at it, why dont we just liberate Mexico while were at it and send the 25% of their population that are here in the US home.
2. MSN.
3. AP.
Yep, this one passes the smell test.
That’s not our job, and our President knows it. He’s playing them.
Only invade if the U.S. installs a Constitutional free Republic.
Just tell the Democrats we are installing a Communist Democray so they go along.
