Liberty Island evacuated amid 'Abolish ICE' protest; woman attempts to climb Statue of Liberty

Liberty Island was evacuated Wednesday as a woman was arrested for trying to scale the iconic Statue of Liberty to protest President Trump.
The woman, who appeared to be black and could be seen holding up a T-shirt displaying the words “Rise and Resist” and “Trump Care Makes Us Sick,” was able to scale the base of the statue.
She was arrested by two rappelling police officers after an hours-long standoff on America’s Independence Day.
The whole island was evacuated as a precaution.

“Where the HELL were the POLICE GUARDING the Statue on the 4th???” Great question. **With what’s the recent protests and being Independence Day, the Statue should have been heavily guarded. I’m sure the answer lies in the fact DeBlasio is mayor - he wants this civil unrest more than anyone.** Warren Wilhelm Jr. a.k.a. Mayor DeBlahs.io made sure the 'pride' celebration was well guarded, no shenanigans allowed to mar that special day!
