Florida Democratic activists love Andrew Gillum. They seem oblivious to the investigation.

"People are really looking for somebody that is hopeful and inspiring, and Gillum really meets that," said Women's March Pinellas organizer Lisa Perry, likening Gillum's grass roots enthusiasm to the kind generated by Sanders and Barack Obama. "Gillum may have the least funding, but he's created a really big ground game here already."

This article is dated February, 2018. I am posting it now only for its background info on Gillum, because it has just this morning been reported by NewsMax in another thread here on FR that George Soros has contributed $700,000 to Gillum's Florida gubernatorial campaign. However there is scant info on Gillum in the NewsMax article. I ran a search here on FR to determine if the Tampa Bay Times article was ever posted before, but it apparently has not been.

I went to one of the Tampa Bay articles on Gillum and the Governors race. Every single one of the Democrats running had their names in the article, the whole article talked about all of the problems each of the candidates is having. And by the end of the article, I still did not know if any Republicans were running. The whole article acted and read as if the field was only Democrats and that one of them would be governor.

I have never read a more fairy tale story in my life.

We need to avoid the often repeated error of referring to the “Democrat” party as the “Democratic” party. There is nothing democratic about the democrat party agenda. My guess is that while the “activist” referred to in the headline may very likely indeed a democrat the likelihood that they practice a “democratic” philosophy is somewhere between nil and none.

Completely agree. Why in the world did wthe right stop using the moniker “democRAT” during that bygone election when they all squealed about it in some campaign add?!? Anyone else remember that? Clever and funny. I thought it was one of the best jabs going, but we stopped because they didn’t like it.

We started calling them DemocRATs because a GW Bush campaign ad had the word “Democrat” scroll across the screen, and for a brief instant, only “rat” was visible. It was supposedly a subliminal message because it disappeared so quickly no one could actually see the word “rail unless they paused the ad.

We haven’t stopped. As far as I know, people on FR still call them “DemocRATs” or just RATs. I see both terms used.

Soros should be made the target. Talked about constantly like the Dims tried to do with Koch Bros. or the NRA

Make Soros an ALBATROSS around the neck of EVERY candidate or “nonprofit”

If he gives a dime, the whole is infected, contaminated.

Make Soros the ISSUE

Let them waste their money. Less to spend on the general election. Gillum is probably going to jail.

How would you summarize the “investigation”? Of what? Who is doing the investigating? When will it develop into charges or ?

“The FBI does not issue press releases declaring politicians innocent of wrongdoing they might be looking into, and public corruption investigations can plod along for years without an indictment or announcement.

Fairly or unfairly, this investigation could loom over Gillum well past election day.”

Hmm... this reminds me of another case involving a major political figure being investigated by the FBI that dragged on and on. Now, what was his name?
