Just hours after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement, media legal analysts and commentators began forecasting what this will mean for women’s reproductive freedom. On CNN: “Roe v. Wade is doomed.” Huffington Post: “It’s time to prepare for life without nationwide legal abortion.” Reuters: “a death knell for Roe v. Wade.” Or, as one commenter remarked, invoking Dylan, “looks like it’s all over now, baby blue.”
I share the despair, but have we forgotten something? Republicans have a one-vote majority in the Senate. Their number includes two female moderates, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, both of whom support abortion rights, and one of whom — Ms. Collins — has already declared this week that she would not support a candidate hostile to Roe v. Wade.

Absolutely correct. Total scare tactic. Roberts will never overturn Roe. If Trump puts in a real conservative Roberts becomes Kennedy. He already screwed us but good with OCare and AZ trying to stop the invasion of their state. Thank God the Rats we have 10 rats up in Red states otherwise these two women might cross over.
First, these two are senators. The senate is needed to pass Trumps nominees. Currently, there are only 51 republicans in the senate.
Second, the republicans only have to defend 8 senate seats come November. The 'democrats' have to defend 25 - 23 held by democrats and two independents that vote essentially 100% with the democrats. Hence, if you want to boot Collins and Murkowski, its going to have to wait until after the new senate is seated. The smart money is on the republicans picking up between 6 and 8 seats. Call it 6 and it puts the republicans at 57. Kicking out those two would still leave a decent margin for error at 55.
More reason for Americans to show up and win 11 dem seats.
They aint in the house of reps.
With every Republican SCJ nominee, it’s the same old lamentations.......And R v. W is still the law of the land.
The New York Times would run a car over their dying grandmothers to steal power from Republicans. They know control is based on numbers... what jackasses.

Here are the left’s options:
Threaten or bribe Kennedy to force him to NOT retire until after the mid-terms.
Threaten or bribe any number of republicans to vote against ANY nominee.
Other that that, they got nothing.
...and considering there are red state dem senators up for re-election, they will have to sacrifice their careers for a NO vote.
The very definition of “blowhard” will be on full display throughout the process of which I won’t be watching.
Expect them to drag Anita Hill out of moth balls to reprise her long dong silver and pubic hair on a coke can roll even if the nominee is a woman.

The Left must use euphemisms in order to deceive the American people about this issue. Phrases like, “women’s reproductive freedom”, “pro choice”, “pregnancy termination” are used because reality is repugnant to most Americans. So let’s make sure that they can’t get away with this deception.
Their policy is to kill babies, chop them up, and sell the pieces. That’s their business model and it’s very profitable.
We got rid of Murkowski once.

Oh sure, so they bombard Collins with clothes hangers when they are happy with her, just imagine what would happen if she REALLY made them happy!
If Murkowski left I suspect her career would end at the next election.
