Moved to NE OK...in the country. Became friends with a cowboy...We were going to check on something...in a pasture...in my truck.
We were in the middle of a pasture...in the middle of nowhere. I stopped the truck...cuz we could not drive further...and we got out..and I locked the truck. My friend looks at me..and say's why did you do that?????

This was long after I left the nest. The first thing that happened was my dad got the bill, tried to protest it, and was told nope, its accurate. My dad was bewildered. Then a few weeks later, his phone range around 10:00...he was already in bed, and did not make it to the phone in time...he went back to bed. Then 5 minutes later, his front door opens, and somebody is in his living room. Dad goes to investigate, kid bolts, Dad calls cops. My dad identified the kid, but the kid and of course his parents claimed he was innocent. So the cops hit re-dial on the kid’s phone, and it rang to my Dad’s house.
What the kid had done is recognize the pattern that my dad was usually away on Wednesdays (bridge night). So the kid would wait until after his own bed-time, and call Dad’s place, to ensure he wasn’t there...then he would sneak out of his house and go call the dirty phone lines (I don’t even want to think of what else he might have been doing to himself while on the phone). Anyway, the neighbor was a co-worker of Dad, and a piece of scum, who never paid my Dad a nickel for the bill, and continued to protest his kid’s innocence.
You should have looked at him very seriously and said, “Son, a drunk cow drivin’ a pick up truck ain’t no joke.”
