Catholics are the sole remaining religious group that it is politically correct to slander and denigrate and the consideration of nominees for the Supreme Court vacancy left by the retiring Anthony Kennedy has brought out the liberal anti-Catholic bigots en masse. Their target is Justice Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
Just as John F. Kennedy was said by some to be a stalking horse for the Vatican who would clear each major decision with the Pope, Barrett a practicing Catholic who actually gets it right, has been charged with embracing Catholic dogma so tightly that there is no room left for the Constitution and those “emanations from a penumbra” that sanctified Roe V. Wade. Catholic League President Bill Donahue addressed the issue on “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox:
Senate Democrats grilled Barrett over how her Catholic faith would affect her views on court precedents concerning abortion cases during her confirmation process after Trump nominated her as a circuit judge in 2017.

I dated an Eoiscopalian, and said he’s “J.V. Catholic”.
Gorsuch is the ONLY justice on SCOTUS who is not Jewish or Roman Catholic.
He is Episcopalian.

They would be just fine with Pope Frank. Marxist? Check. Latino? Check. Anti-American? Check. Not a U.S. Citizen? Check. Catholic? Not so much.
Just to play devil’s advocate, for much of the time that the court was all Protestant, the country itself was overwhelmingly Protestant as well.

I blame the Protestant presidents and the pro—Catholic and Jew bias in their nominations. They must know something I guess. Or it could be Jews and Catholics go to the elite north east law schools and culture. I would rather they pick their Catholics from other areas of the country, I think this Barrett chick isn’t from the north east.
I would love to see a regular person non-lawyer, joe the plumber type. The kind of person that has enough sense to have never eaten a $100 plate of food that looks like Christmas tinsel smeared over a tiny piece of meat.

When African-Americans were being persecuted in the Old South, their persecutors were so ashamed of what they were doing that they covered themselves with white sheets and hoods to hide their identity.
But the Democrats and media are gearing up to persecute a possible Catholic Supreme Court nominee for her religious beliefs in full shameless view of the world, complete with pre-borking coming attractions to attract as many viewers as possible to their Inquisition.
Not that it matters, but I was raised Southern Baptist.

On reading about the “religious history” of the SCOTUS just now, it appears that both Jews and Catholics on the Court are a very recent thing. Back as late as the early 20th Century, the Court was essentially all Protestant. The current make up is very new thing.
As for Kennedy’s pick, I suspect that he realized that he didn’t have a lot of latitude given the likely makeup of the Senate back then. But that’s just conjecture on my part. And I suspect that the percentage of Catholics in the US was likely smaller back then as well.
