Hubby’s mom and dad offered to give us their house that was built in the 1950’s. I said no for various reasons. #1 was the part of town it was in. That area is a barrio now. It was a tiny 3 bedroom home with a detached garage that had never been updated. It was nowhere near what I wanted.
They raised 2 kids in it.
A newly built 50s-style house wouldn’t need the plumbing and wiring replaced ... but I know what you mean.
