"When people say ‘dont you want kids to take care of you when you are older’ as justification for having kids, they cant see the selfishness of that reason." I disagree. Family interdependence is not selfish. It is mutual, natural and universal.

Having kids to take care of you is a selfish reason.
Its done because its in what you perceive to be your best interests, which are the first and foremost reason you are doing it.
