The Lexington restaurant opened its doors for dinner for the first time in nearly two weeks after it gained national attention for refusing to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and asking her to leave.

(snip)

Trump supporters flocked to the restaurant in protest after news broke, hoping to send the message that people need to “start showing a little respect for the President of the United States,” Grub Street reports.

It seats 26 max and is open only from 5 to 9 pm, Tue - Sat.

That's not enough to make the property tax payment. Further proof this is the ugly lib owner's idea of a lark.

That is the real secret recipe for sure!

I’d like to see a picture of a long line at the Red Hen bathroom with everyone claiming, they’re waiting for their business partner before they order.

Get a visa gift card with $25 on it. Make the reservation. Spend the card amount at the gas station and the account closes.

They admitted the employees are gay, so I’ll pass on the sweat dripping into my had tossed salad.

She also has another little artsy fartsy yarn shop down the street. Can’t see that either of them would generate a profit.

The only thing that we ever used carp for in Michigan was as fertilizer .. we buried the cruddy things in the garden.

For a small town, it has quite a lot of history and is downright charming. It’s the county seat of Rockbridge County, and gains some sophistication from that fact, and even more from the presence of VMI and W&L (which has re-invented itself as a liberal institution).

Its something like a 26 table restaurant... IF you can’t fully book that, especially with all the free press, you shouldn’t even open.

This is good. All the Trump-hating, elitist lunatics together in one restaurant. That makes all the other restaurants safe for “hardworking” normal Americans. God Bless America.

Are we sure “fully booked” doesn’t mean that they have stacks of books by Comey, Crapper and Clintoon on sale there for a dollar?

Good for Kids No
Good for Groups No
Noise Level Very Loud
Wi-Fi No
Gender Neutral Restrooms Yes

Doesn’t sound very inviting no matter what the customer’s politics might be.

On their menu is a North Carolina Grouper with Herb Risotto / Stone House Farms Carrots for $25. Snort, I make a tilapia almondine with carrot soufflé and yogurt dill cucumbers for $1.75. Ok, so they need to make a profit but $9 for a simple marinated beet salad?

Had to search what their Pommes Parmentier was. Ha, seasoned roasted potatoes that they likely do quick in a skillet. IOW, toss cubed potatoes in some Hidden Valley Ranch mix and put it in the oven. Those were served with beef with a béarnaise sauce. The old joke about béarnaise sauce is it is how you salvage your curdled hollandaise sauce. $28 for that dish.

That’s it. For dinner, I’m making a boneless beef rib (<$3/lb) with a homemade sauce, chilled marinated beet salad and a medley (medley, ooh la la sounds fancy) of sautéed summer squash since we’re low carbing. Waaay, less than $37, kiss the cook in lieu of a tip and I’ll even wash my hands and not spit in the salad. All served in a quiet comfy home setting and kids (aka furbabies) welcome.

I agree with you on the moist chicken. It is delicious. Likewise, I don’t eat at fast food places. I will get a aMcDonalds coffee from time to time.

“It seats 26 max and is open only from 5 to 9 pm, Tue - Sat.”

That works out to 20 hours/week.

So 26 people (max), 20 hours a week. Not a good business plan even before they pissed off 50% of potential customers.
