Yup! Every Libtard in the world was decrying this in 1991.
Look at them now.
Actually, that was written into the U.S. Constitution years earlier.
The term "high seas" in those days had an important legal distinction that meant naval forces would operate under very different legal standards than the army in many cases. The term "high seas" referred to open waters that were not under the legal control of any sovereign nation, so there was an expectation that naval activity -- almost by definition -- could involve military engagements without a formal declaration of war.
Gotta to say this about Buchanan - he’s never tired of making excuses for America’s enemies.
The main failure to that killed the national GOP is that they are democrats.
The largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind.
Buchanan’s shtick is making excuses for America’s enemies. The Kaiser, Hitler - just about anyone will do. The guy supported letting Saddam keep Kuwait. According to Pat, America’s real enemy is the eternal Jew.
The unbridgeable divide is Illegal Immigration.
The Never Trumpers want to preserve illegal immigration, presumably so they can exploit cut-rate labor and skirt worker safety regulations.
This is unacceptable to a majority of Americans.
The Never Trumpers refuse to give up this position, so they will not have a place in the Republican Party, nor should they.
The Republican Party is the party of freedom and equal rights. The Democrats have always sought to import exploitable labor from overseas, labor that does not enjoy the protection of citizenship. They used to do it with slave ships. Now they do it with coyotes, smuggling people across the border.
The Republican Party was founded as an anti-slavery party. That work continues to this day.
Our troops were never given the tools to accomplish anything that would last longer than a month or three after we pulled out of Iraq, thus there was never any legacy of any sort.
Legacy means something that outlasts the original thing, and the US aproach to Iraq guaranteed that there could not possibly be any lasting effect.
Actually, that was written into the U.S. Constitution years earlier.
“never-Trump conservatives” is an oxymoron.
Same thing with the NWO of the WCW.
Our troops were never given the tools to accomplish anything that would last longer than a month or three after we pulled out of Iraq, thus there was never any legacy of any sort.
What an idiotic policy.
Peace in the main in Iraq, an ever present balance to Iran, these were being achieved with relatively little cost while our troops were there. That alone would be a legacy.
Eventually we might have achieved something similar to Japan.
Smoke Screen. The Establishment GOP never surrenders, just waits for the opportune to retake their ground.
Buchanans shtick is making excuses for Americas enemies. The Kaiser, Hitler - just about anyone will do. The guy supported letting Saddam keep Kuwait. According to Pat, Americas real enemy is the eternal Jew.
The idea that we could have withstood Hitler after he conquered Russia, then made accommodations with what remained of the British Empire, is laughable.
It is a nice Dream. Liberterians have the same Dream about open borders. At least Buchanan is not sucked into that.
No, Buchanan is NOT the greatest conservative ever, because he’s anti-Israel to the point of being an anti-Semite.
I have followed him closely over the years, and though I do agree with him in some areas, on the subject of Israel, he’s no conservative.
Having not watched these clowns in ages, I have forgotten the name of the one in a green tie. What is his name?
Mort Kondracke
Well put - I was thinking similar thoughts, but you really put it together.
I didn’t say, suggest or imply that. Try reading the words before making reckless ignorant comments.
