Exactly. If he would do a good job on the court then put him in. He can vote for himself, can’t he? The UT gov would appoint another conservative, right?...Make it happen DJT!

“Would you say there was a plethora of conservatives?”

possibly. “plethora” SOUNDS like it should be way more numerous than numerous ...

Sometimes numerous and plethora are only more than zero where feelings are involved.

““We need a Supreme Court justice who is not only wise and principled, but brave,””

not really. what we need is a judge who is a strict constructionist/originalist ... all the rest of that stuff about wise, principled and brave takes care of itself ...

I don’t trust anyone who tried to steal the nomination from Trump at the convention. Trump’s other picks seem fine.

The SCOTUS wasn’t important enough to him in the 2016 election. He was happy to give it to Hillary to stop trump.

Trump should call Senator Lee and tell him this:

"Because you felt that Hillary was acceptable to make SCOTUS choices, I called her and asked about you. She said emphatically no. So there you go. Sorry."

Too late. The first ‘no’ was in comment #5, so that person gets the credit for ending Lee’s chances.

Mike Lee would probably be a mistake like Jeff Sessions seems to have been.

Who could have guessed Sessions would accept the position but immediately recuse himself from everything related to his boss or the department which he oversees?

And who could have guessed that Sessions’ seat, in a reliably conservative state, would fall into the hands of a Democrat senator?

Utah just selected the prince of RINOs, Mitt Romney, who is probably is as bad a choice as a Democrat, in their Republican primary. So we KNOW that Utah is capable of giving away this fairly reliable vote.

We have a slim margin in the Senate. Let’s try to hold onto to it, ok?

We're seeing a major realignment of the voting public, and it will continue for a number of years, and the only real threat will be if the DNC tries to soften its message and marginalize the radicals currently trying to stage a takeover. The big hurdle will be in 2024, but it's difficult to believe that the POTUS hasn't planned that far ahead.

The last time we had this kind of realignment was due to the Vietnam War; before that, the New Deal; prior to that, WWI.

The DNC has been trying to establish a single party state at least since the time of Wilson. Republicans tend to have less identification with the party because free thinkers don't fit in the party-first doctrinaire nature of the Demagogic Party. Emancipation happened under Republican majorities, that's also when women got the vote.

And yet, Eisenhower was elected to, and served out, two consecutive terms, and the previous Republican to pull that off was U.S. Grant.

I’m not a Mike Lee fan, however this last minute push in media seems odd.

All out push to stop Barrett.

I realize the shift is occuring and have an idea of what it implies, but what concerns me, as I said, is demorats abandoning the sinking ship o’ DNC and carrying their leftardic disease to re-infest the GOP.

We’re just, finally, starting to break the back of the uniparty GOPe.

"So why do they think Trumo would pick him or why would Trump want to pick him."

Well, I believe that Trump, being a great businessman and not a back stabbing lawyer, knows that if he wants to accomplish his goals then he must be willing to deal with everyone in the room.. No matter what their personal likes or dislikes may be... The plan is to use them when and where ever he can and best them in the deal... The old saying is "The best revenge is to live well".. I guess that means to be successful….
