An artillery shell is a round ball with a long fuse you load into a plastic or cardboard tube and it blasts out with an impressive boom and explodes into the air with multicolored sparks. Theyre not talking about a frigging 105mm howitzer, obviously. They’re also called mortars. And they are not illegal. I use the canister shot. 3 shells per canister and light up the sky. Can be bought at any fireworks stand.
A few years back, we were celebrating New Years by shooting fireworks. The artillery shells came out. My buddy may have had too much alcohol and put one in upside down. The thing exploded in a crowd. the cardboard tube vanished in the explosion. Luckily no one was hurt. I built a new mortar from steel pipe with a steel base.
