Cannot really disagree, but im cautious about FL picking a conservative to replace De Santis. Read a recent article that most of the displaced Puerto Ricans are likely to remain here. I dont pretend to know their politics, but they did a pretty good job of turning PR into a 3rd world paradise. Will they bring it with them?

The Puerto Ricans who have moved to Florida are probably not living in DeSantis’ 6th congressional district. Thus, the Puerto Rican vote should not influence the outcome of the 6th congressional district if DeSantis is the Republican candidate for Governor.

As far as the Governor’s race is concerned, the Republicans need a strong candidate like DeSantis to overcome the likely Democrat vote by the Puerto Ricans.

Putnam has too much Establishment baggage to bring the Republican vote out in force.

The 2018 Florida election promises to be exciting with Gov. Rick Scott challenging a very, very old Sen Bill Nelson.

DeSantis is a better candidate to ride that excitement.
