You shouldn’t be allowed to BE a “Parkland Congressman” unless you first pass a Mental Health examination, a Lie Detector test, a VERY INTRUSIVE background check to see if you have anything remotely criminal in your background, and the MINUTE you utter one single comment regarding abrogating Citizen’s Constitutional rights, you agree IN WRITING to be immediately expelled, with loss of benefits, pension, perks, and security/protection, etc.

You’re close here. But the reason to put a fail safe on a gun with a thumb print has nothing to do with the weapon. If they are sold on the street, you can be assured the system has been removed and it is just a gun again. And there’s nothing to stop the sales people from bringing in foreign country guns which have no responsibility to US laws.
This “idea” is not only flawed, it’s stupid it isn’t recognized to be flawed. Where do these idiots get these greater idiots to fall on their sword identified as fools? And they just keep coming.

Here's a bigger opportunity to save lives. Most murderers have prior criminal records. When a jury has convicted somebody, if this is the third strike, then as a second stage of deliberations, give the jury the WHOLE criminal record, and have them vote as to whether it would be better for society to just have the guy executed. If they vote yes, the execution will be carried out immediately.
If they order electronics put into guns, you can be certain that one of the features will be that the government can send a signal to remotely disable the gun whenever they want to. That's the real reason for wanting to push the technology.
