Winning the energy wars ? We’re sitting on a ocean of obtainable crude. Why are gas prices skyrocking? With our oil situation, gas should never be more than $2 a gallon.
The economy is booming so the inadequate number of refineries is causing the price jump. Wheeler should start by declaring an end to the idiotic regional blends. It just makes the problem worse.
Other variances in pricing: Summer demand, expanding economy, higher numbers of employed consumers driving to work and confident enough to take driving vacations once more, and limited refinery capacity courtesy of your friendly EPA and environmental whingers.
“Skyrocketing” is a bit of an exaggeration. Average price is about 2.80 a gallon compared to almost four dollars in the second Obama term.
We don’t have enough refineries, and ANWR is going to take years just to get started up.
