“In DC they function as regular cops on patrol”

years ago I read that in the DC area There was something like 21 law enforcement agencies and police forces that have jurisdiction and they are crossed jurisdictional. It’s hard to imagine that they have any problems here but he sees rife with lawlessness...

All of the universities have a PD; Georgetown, GW, Howard, American U probably even Gallaudet (the school for the deaf and blind). The military police are also there; every branch as well as the veterans hospital.
The FBI, Park Police, Secret Service, ICE, Capital Police and of course the DC Metro cops. I imagine the subway has it’s own too. I’m certain I’ve forgotten several.
