Nicola Sturgeon: UK Government has descended into 'utter chaos'

THE resignation of David Davis as Brexit Secretary has confirmed the UK government’s descent into “utter chaos”, Nicola Sturgeon has said.

The First Minister said Theresa May’s administration was now simply a “shambles”.

Ms Sturgeon tweeted her verdict as SNP MPs were being asked to attend a Downing Street briefing on the Prime Minister’s Chequers deal by her of chief of staff Gavin Barwell.

Mr Barwell has offered a briefing on Mrs May’s Brexit proposals to all opposition MPs, in a sign Number 10 knows it cannot rely on the support of Tory MPs alone to make them work.

Leading Brexiter Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg said it showed Ms May would need “social votes” to get her scheme through parliament.

After quitting on Sunday night, Mr Davis said this morning that he could not have sold Mrs May’s Brexit proposals in Brussels as he did not believe in them.

They were giving away “too much, too easily”, Mr Davis said on BBC Radio 4.

Ms Sturgeon wrote: “The Chequers unity didn’t last long. This UK government is in utter chaos and ebbing authority by the day. What a shambles.”

Carwyn Jones, the Labour First Minister of Wales, added: “The resignation of David Davis shows that the UK Government is in complete disarray over Brexit and action urgently needs to be taken to resolve this chaos - businesses need certainty and the country needs leadership and direction.”

Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard called for a general election.

He said: “Theresa May has no authority left. The Prime Minister is in office but not in power. This is not sustainable.

“In the interests of the great majority of people in Scotland and across the United Kingdom, we must have a General Election.”

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell tweeted: "With such instability in government it's impossible to see how EU leaders could take Theresa May seriously in the next round of negotiations. It's time for her and her party to put country before party and go."

“Just walk away from the shit, let UK fall into utter chaos and let the citizens fix it at the ballot box.”

How?

The BBC is CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, CBS. ABC, NBC rolled into one. They are so left that we’d have to approach 10 sigma to the slimy side of normal in order to remotely approach that dastardly group of marshmallow liberals.

Hell, to them, the Guardian is right wing.

Here’s the thing...

When everyone is lying their asses off, eventually the citizens realize that they are being lied to and trust no media. People will revolt at the ballot box.

It’s happening here. My 26 yr old daughter that owns a successful pet store. Unsolicited, one of her young employees turned to Trump because EVERYONE was hating on Trump. He concluded that it was TOO much hate, it was then he thought for himself and he turned away from the media and liberals. This is a recent event.

I know of three stories like this in the last couple months where former liberals have all a sudden come to the conclusion that the left is insane and dangerous.

Walk Away is real.

What has happened to Great Britain and its importance in the world?

Its government is in utter chaos yet the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 320 points today.

It seems to me that just as people here don't want to accept the constitutionally based results of our election, this is their way of sabotaging BRexit and a fair election. Sounds like officials can't or don't want to take the flak.

My guess is they will manipulate everything to keep them in the EU.<

It's probably more complex than how I interpret it.

Merkel and May are just the mouthpieces.

The EU has a uniparty and IT needs to go.

Boris Johnson’s resignation letter is creating a lot of talk. He said the Chequers “agreement” (members of government were told to go along with it or catch a cab home as they’d lose their cars and drivers) was making the UK a colony of the EU. Commentators on Sky News claimed they’d never seen anything like it.

The UK needs to put someone in power before President Trump gets there or else they lose their best opportunity to begin to fashion a UK/USA post-Brexit trade deal. May has been an absolute disaster!

“Walk Away is real.”

I certainly hope that you are right———the public displays of leftist hate are VERY disturbing——and the inability of the press to recognize it is even more disturbing.
