Rand Paul wants to see his name in the papers.

(Can this be much different from an arsonist who enjoys watching the blaze he set, n'est ce pas?)

He’s way to the right of Roberts. He’s in the mold of Thomas.

Paul may go along in the end, but he's doing Schumer's work for him in the meantime.

[ If true they may have to wheel in McCain in his hospital bed. He might do it to flip off Rand. Or, he might vote no to screw Trump. I think it’s going to be a 50-49 vote. Red state D’s were put on notice. Their freaking Senate whip openly called for their defeat if they defect. ]

Maybe Rand is head Faking McCain to vote for him.... And then Rand votes Yea, last!!!

It would piss of the dying ol’ song birdie.

I dont have a problem with Paul. In a sane world, the two major parties would be Republicans and Libertarians.

Rand Harumph Paul seems to have a huge button on his own self importance. Always looking to be the fly in the ointment, just to draw attention to himself.

Rand Paul, always trying to make a big-name for himself by grandstanding. As usual.

Maybe, but Paul has some good points. I am not saying Paul shouldn't be confirmed, but I wish Paul, instead of Burr, could question Kavanaugh in the judciary committee.

Kavanaugh played a big part in ruling for the Obama deep state's 4th amendment violations in (note: I don't agree with the title of the article) Klayman v. Obama and the NSA.

If SCOTUS does not force the deep state to honor the 4th amendment, I don't think Congress will either. The deep state will continue to be unaccountable, and the abuse, like illegal spying on, and unmasking Trump people will continue.

Kavanaugh is very solid on 2nd Amendment rights. In a time when 2A is under assault like never before Kavanaugh is an excellent pick

In follow-on litigation to the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on the Second Amendment in D.C. v. Heller, a D.C. Circuit panel majority, consisting of two Republican appointees, upheld the District of Columbia’s ban on possession of most semi-automatic rifles and its registration requirement for all guns in D.C. Judge Kavanaugh dissented (in Heller v. D.C. (2011)). An excerpt from his dissent:

In Heller, the Supreme Court held that handguns – the vast majority of which today are semi-automatic – are constitutionally protected because they have not traditionally been banned and are in common use by law-abiding citizens. There is no meaningful or persuasive constitutional distinction between semi-automatic handguns and semiautomatic rifles. Semi-automatic rifles, like semi-automatic handguns, have not traditionally been banned and are in common use by law-abiding citizens for self-defense in the home, hunting, and other lawful uses. Moreover, semiautomatic handguns are used in connection with violent crimes far more than semi-automatic rifles are. It follows from Heller’s protection of semi-automatic handguns that semi-automatic rifles are also constitutionally protected and that D.C.’s ban on them is unconstitutional. (By contrast, fully automatic weapons, also known as machine guns, have traditionally been banned and may continue to be banned after Heller.)

There is also hope they might be able to pick off a desperate Democrat facing an uphill re-election climb.

But it seems like Rand makes these noises then somehow comes around in the end. They may have already got him back on the reservation somehow.

Rand Paul doesn't like Justice Kavanaugh?

Hey, everyone! Rand Paul hates our Second Amendment and other freedoms!

We always knew that Rand Paul was a lefty.

That’s the issue many of us keep missing - if the law, as written, supports the conclusions that Kavanaugh drew, then he is 100% what we want.

The fact that Rand Paul didn’t care for the conclusion is immaterial, if the conclusion was correct with respect to the constitution and then the law.

I think Kavanaugh is a terrible pick. Fox Business reported last night that he was Trump’s second choice, Barrett was his first. He was told by the Bushie coordinating the candidates that Barrett would have a harder time getting confirmed than Kavanaugh, which is a joke because Kavanaugh has written over 300 opinions and has long ties to Bush. It is absolutely hated by democrats. Trump should have went with his gut and selected the real pro lifer his base wanted. Kavanaugh could our to be worse than Kennedy.

“Kavanaugh has stated that he considers Roe v. Wade binding under the principle of stare decisis and would seek to uphold it,[23] but has also ruled in favor of some restrictions for abortion.[24][25][26]

In May 2006, Kavanaugh stated he “would follow Roe v. Wade faithfully and fully” and that the issue of the legality of abortion has already “been decided by the Supreme Court”.[23] During the hearing, he stated that a right to an abortion has been found “many times”, citing Planned Parenthood v. Casey.[23]

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Kavanaugh

He even even declined to rule against Obamacare. https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/top-trump-supreme-court-prospect-declined-rule-against-obamacare
