Democrats can make as much noise as they want about President Donald Trumps nominee for the Supreme Court, but they have few procedural weapons at their disposal to stop Brett Kavanaughs confirmation on their own although they can make life difficult along the way. One strategy for the Senate Democrats may be to create as much time as possible between Monday nights announcement and the Judiciary Committees confirmation hearings. Critics can seek to spread out the timeline so they can dig into the prospective justices background, writings and paperwork.
As opponents did with former President George W. Bushs ill-fated pick in 2005, Harriet Miers, they can work to demonstrate the candidates shortcomings and possible political ties.
That also may mean mining the rule books to see how they can slow the committee process. But since the precedents were changed over the last few years, only a simple majority of senators is needed to break a potential filibuster.

Straight from the Democratic playbook:
1. Tell outrageous lies
2. Go back to step #1
Don’t forget about the less-than-loyal Republican Senators who hate Trump, they’re one of the Democrats’ tools.
Collins, Flakey, and others ... who are easily pliable under intense media intimidation ... will they vote properly?
And you know there will be intense media intimidation this time like never before
I hope we can get all of our side to vote for the nominee. Durbin already told his 3 possible yes votes to fall on the sword for the party.
No need to rehash telling lies, the media psychopath's have been handing that quite well for a very long time.
Then there’s brawling in the streets. Intimidation tactics they’re using with increasing boldness. Sessions still asleep.
Yes, but there is tremendous difference in the Democrat party about what is “best for the party”.
McCain just tweeted hes a fine candidate
Or whoever is pretending to be McCain on social media
Cant fake a vote however
Few? For people for whom there are no rules few isn’t a problem. They’re crazy delusional. Now, past cheating, such as using the courts as a fiat legislature is turning on them. They are the architect of their desperation and sooner or later it all blows up...
“Collins, Flakey, and others ... who are easily pliable under intense media intimidation ... will they vote properly?”
So far McCain’s on board - so that’s one non-problem. Apparently Rand Paul is acting up again, I guess ‘on principle’, whatever that means.
You are totally wrong about Sessions and have no evidence for your salacious observation
>>Democrats can make as much noise as they want about President Donald Trumps nominee for the Supreme Court, but they have few procedural weapons at their disposal <<
Few = zero.
Screaming is not a procedural weapon.
It is important President Trump lines up the GOP and we have no traitors.
can he fly back to DC to vote?
Otherwise he needs to retire. He cannot do his job. And cannot realistically compel him to attend a session of Senate.
Has he been given an official excused absence?
Ha Ha
Just remembering —when thinking of “loyal” repugs-
JUMPIN- Jim Jeffords!
and he did not even get a thank you from the demonrats
McCain is irrelevant either way. He has to be well enough to show up IN PERSON ON THE SENATE FLOOR and vote with his own hand.
Fear and lies. They own the msm.
What else have they had for years?
But if he has McCains vote, Murkowski and Collins should be on board. Paul will come around.
GOP seems happy with him and hell be easily confirmed.
Im waiting for 3-5 women to pop up and say they knew him 30 years ago and he touched their hair without their permission.
