Wasn’t she supposed to die before getting a shippped named after her? Plus what did she ever have to do with the Navy? Maybe sink that boat and rename a post office after her. An Obama elementary school?
Just thinking about it makes me angry. Granted, I am not sure how much input the USN was allowed to have (and I do recognize they are now deeply steeped in all things PC) but even still...I find it deeply humiliating as a son of a career Naval Officer and a sailor myself.
Just embarrassing.
