I’m getting the vibe that the Democrats are having a resigned, “going through the motions” response to Kavanaugh. Whether it is the obviously pre-printed signs for all the potential candidates, the sloppy failure to bother to proofread their press releases or the drearily predictable, boilerplate denunciations I think they already know that Trump will win this one.

Yes. Hell, Collins and Murkowski voted for Kavanaugh for the appeals court.
I think he’s a done deal.

I doubt that. They are laying low until the right moment. Then some floosy will come out of the woodwork and accuse him of harassment. They will argue that it needs to be delayed at a minimum.

It's all about fund raising.

I think the handwriting is on the wall for them. I think they all know already what is going to happen, and they are simply using this to gin up their base for the 2018 vote, and raising money. Before Trump announced his pick Pelosi was sending out "Stop the SCOTUS pick, send me money" emails.
And that's what it's all about, like the Hokey pokey.
