Progressive politics have done nothing to help black America

During a lecture at the Library of Conservatism in Germany, British philosopher Sir Roger Scruton described conservatism as a philosophy that recognizes and acknowledges that good things are easily destroyed but not easily created, such as law, peace, freedom, civility, the security of property and family life. He contends we depend on the cooperation of others for the aforementioned to exist because we have no means or ability to single handedly attain it. He states “the work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating.” “The work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.”

For the African American, the journey from captivity to slavery, to eventual freedom was indeed painful and laborious. The life and community they once enjoyed were easily destroyed. Before captivity, there was a culture, a community that freed Africans enjoyed before their captivity. The result of which, of course, was the complete dissolution of the known for the unknown that was justified based on the antiquated belief of ethnic superiority.

The decision to destroy and tear families apart goes against the very fabric of preservation, which is at the core of conservatism. However, it was justified because the ability to systematically dominate a group with a different identity meant you could easily disregard that identity. Free labor equated to creating wealth, material gain and expansion, as an objective that made it easy to disregard the their humanity.

In spite of the complete destruction of their peace, freedom, security, and family, such actions against the slave demanded their self-preservation. They needed to conserve as much of their culture as possible, although over time, their reality would demand the development of a new one that was necessary for their ongoing survival in a new world. Out of their struggle was born “Black Conservatism” that became inherent to future generations. The emphasis was born out of their struggle and was a means by which they could preserve themselves and their developing culture and heritage.

African Americans are the quintessential example of it means to be conservative. Beyond the fact that a great majority are socially conservative, a great majority are also distrusting of the government because of hundreds of years of generational experience, and are skeptical of radical change because it typically negatively and disproportionately impacted them. If you dive deeper, beyond politics, it is our discipline, perseverance, and ingenuity since slavery, coupled with the need to preserve our tradition and culture as a community that is not intrinsic values of the radical progressive left but are the greatest examples of traditional conservatism.

The effectiveness of America’s radical left and their uncanny ability to usurp African American’s natural ideological instincts for their warped utopian views are the most significant threat to African American progress. Under the false pretense of cultural and identity politics, they have circumvented having to produce tangible results to holistically address the real concerns of African Americans.

From abortion to the destruction of the family unit and personal responsibility, to the marginalization of faith, to the expansion of government, to the emasculation of black men, the radical left have slowly but steadily attempted to transform black identity.

Liberalism is not inherent to the Black experience in America or the diaspora. However, liberals with the Democratic Party as their apparatus have portrayed themselves as the allies of African Americans in the midst of apparent Republican rejection, leaving African Americans with the unfortunate choice of voting for the left despite their values being disparate from their own.

Black Americans have not benefited from their loyalty to experimental and foreign beliefs of the left. When in power, the left has had the ability to focus on a range of issues that are put first, yet the interest of the Black community are put last, while the African American continues to put them first by giving 90 percent of their support.

Progressivism has not benefited African Americans. African Americans can no longer be indifferent to this failure and must return back to their conservative roots and be skeptical of both political parties, while spreading their influence with their vote to both parties, enabling the maximization of political power, while conserving and preserving their interest.

As Sir Scruton accurately stated, it is easy to destroy, but to create is a slow, arduous and dull process. It is a process that the slave embarked on that is still undertaking today with the children of the historically oppressed and African Americans must be careful not to become entrapped by a party whose values are not in sync with their own.

That is not to say that Republicans should automatically get the African American vote because that trust must be earned, but the African American can slowly dictate the future of the Republican Party by participating in selecting the best candidates who are representative of Conservatism that has the interest of African Americans. Undoubtedly, this will slowly turn the tide on the lily-white conservatism that has hijacked the Republicans Party for decades.

The conclusion here seems to be that Democrats are losing some black support, and Republicans are gaining some black support. I like the sound of that, and I think it is an accurate prediction.

But the actual statements in this article have me scratching my head. Much of the thought process here seems grossly out of whack.

“...The Democrat Party cares only about the Democrat Party....”

Yes, POWER AND CONTROL. Otherwise, they would be happy to watch America burn to the ground. Sick bastards.

George Bush Reagan's biggest mistake.

Selection of a VP is always a compromise, to appease rival factions. Bush was not Reagan, and Reagan knew it. So I wouldn't say Reagan made a mistake in selecting Bush, it was what had to be done at the time because of politics.

The bigger question could be, why, in 1988, did the Republican party voters pick Bush 41 in the primaries???

Yes, Bush was in position to run for president because of being Reagan’s VP, but it’s not like it was an automatic process. Bush 41 was running in the primaries against a number of others, and he won that process. Why did GOP voters then pick Bush to succeed Reagan?????

Michael Dukakis was the democrat pick. It was either Bush or Dukakis. My guess, GOP voters picked Bush because of loyalty factors, not because he was the best candidate. Just like they selected Hillary, because it "was her turn". Again, politics. Not the most logical or best picks, that sucks but that's the way it is.

Transform? More like 'destroy' - destroy all original strengths of black culture. In the 1940's blacks had a higher marriage rate than whites... blacks kept their families together for decades under some of the worst conditions known to man... Then along came white liberals... and the destruction started ... until we have what we have today. Black culture dependent on white elites.... Really sick.
