Small-town Kansas councilwoman bites corrections officer's thumb hard enough to break it

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A small-town Kansas councilwoman landed herself in more trouble after putting up a fight with deputies, according to the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were trying to arrest Carol Fowler, 48, of Huron, Kansas, on June 29 for a failure to appear warrant.

They had to use their tasers on Fowler to take her into custody and arrested her for interference with, and battery on a law enforcement officer in addition to the warrant.

She was taken to jail and remained there on a $5,000 bond, according to a department spokesperson.

A few days later, on July 2, Fowler refused to cooperate with jail workers as they tried to complete the booking process.

When officers were forced to remove jewelry and personal items from her, Fowler bit one of them on the thumb hard enough to break the bone.

Fowler is one of five council members in the town with a population of 73 people, according to the Atchison County website.

“I’ve noticed a virtual parabolic rise in violent crime and resisting arrest by ladies of late. I guess drug use has now spread beyond a mostly male crime.”

She looks mental to me, not doped up.

We used to have more hitting, and things were better for it. We have less hitting now, and things are the worse for it.

“They often seem to be females, although not always, obviously.”

Is this the first generation that never knew the world before feminism?

She just lost the police dept. votes. Don’t think she’ll win next time.

So, what was she arrested for?

Thanks for that. Too many reporters don’t know the first thing about reporting.

Sounds about a reasonable as a couple of guys from another small Kansas town when I tried to save them from their own stupidity with a ransomware virus. Their reactions were fairly similar. One, quite so.

She must have quite a bite....

In 13 years as a judge, the only people I’ve ever had to threaten to have my bailiff handcuff have been middle-aged white women.

I'm guessing it's because they have gone all their lives being able to bully people with the threat of having a psycho episode if they don't get their way, and nobody had ever responded by beating the crap out of them (which is what happens early in life to guys who try that approach). Why do so many women act crazy? Because they can.

Actually, in a town of 73 people, this sounds like its probably a grudge arrest. The town council, probably weren’t happy with her decisions on the council, but she was elected, anyway. Small town government can be really crooked. Ours sure is. The council usually appoints the police captain, if they even have a police department. Usually a place that small is policed by the county sheriff.

There's a lot of truth in what you say there.
