New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Signs Order Protecting Abortion, Demands Permanent Abortion Right
LIFE NEWS ^ | July 10, 2018 | Micaiah Bilger

Already preparing for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo joined abortion activists this week to push for measures to protect abortion on demand.

Cuomo, a Democrat who is up for re-election, signed an executive order Tuesday directing state agencies to make rules forcing health insurers to cover all forms of contraception, including those that may cause abortions, the Journal News reports.

The governor also urged the state legislature to pass a radical pro-abortion bill that would keep abortion on demand legal if Roe is overturned. Surrounded by abortion activists Monday at a rally, Cuomo said the Reproductive Health Act would protect abortion “rights” in the New York Constitution, according to News 12 Westchester.

“Mark my words, they are moving to roll back Roe v. Wade, that is going to be the next move by this president,” Cuomo said of President Donald Trump and his nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh. “They say it. It’s not like you have to read the tea leaves.

“This is a pro-life justice who I believe, there’s no question, will overturn Roe v. Wade,” Cuomo added.

The AP reports Cuomo went so far as to urge the state Senate to come back early from its summer break to pass the pro-abortion legislation. The bill passed the state Assembly, but approval seems unlikely in the Republican-controlled state Senate.

“You either come back and protect a woman’s right to choose and respect a woman’s reproductive health rights,” the governor said, WSHU reports. “Or the voters are going to say to you in November, ‘You’re with Trump? Well, you’re fired from the New York State Senate.’”

Here’s more from the report:

A spokeswoman for the Senate Republicans, Candice Giove, answered Cuomo’s charges, saying in a statement, that “Women’s health issues deserve more than political stunts with stolen one-liners from ‘The Apprentice.’” Giove says the Reproductive Health Act would allow non-doctors to perform abortions and also waters downs rights for pregnant women who are physically abused.

And Giove says Cuomo is so “frightened” of challenger Cynthia Nixon that it’s the governor who has drunk “the Kool-Aid of radicals and socialists who now control the Democratic Party.”

Pro-abortion lawmakers in New York have been trying to pass the radical pro-abortion Reproductive Health Act for years. Already one of the most pro-abortion states in America, New York would be made even more pro-abortion if the law passed. The bill would allow abortions on viable, late-term unborn babies for any “health” reason, a term so widely defined that basically anything would qualify.

State Sen. Liz Krueger, a sponsor of the bill, previously said the legislation also would allow for taxpayer funding of late-term abortions in many cases.

At the national level, the U.S. Senate soon will begin confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh, who, if confirmed, would become the fifth conservative justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. He would replace moderate Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring.

National pro-life leaders have expressed high hopes for Kavanaugh and the future of unborn babies’ rights. Kavanaugh has served on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for D.C. for more than a decade, where he developed an extensive record of protecting religious liberty and enforcing restrictions on abortion. Pro-life leaders believe he would do the same on the Supreme Court.

I tried telling a hysterical libtard today that even if Roe v. Wade was overturned the states that are blue would certainly still have abortion legal in them....

They accused me of lying to them....

These people aren’t too bright...

Meaning you won’t get charged with murder from the state. If the feds recognize abortion as murder you will get arrested by the feds for murder.

The reality is, abortion IS a state issue

And the blue states will enact Roe type legislation, we know that. Or its courts will find “Roe” somehow in state constitutions.

The effect is, Roe won’t be overturned in reality. In principle, it should be, it’s terrible law and overreach by leftist “justices”

But modifying or overturning Roe won’t make abortion illegal all over. It will become a state by state battle in those states that haven’t by then enacted or “decided” Roe-type legislation/rulings.

During his first term, New York legalized same-sex marriage and enacted gun control legislation.

...that among them are LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Feminists need abortion. It allows men to have unprotected sex all the time without concern for romance, commitment or long term financial responsibility.

Cuomo’s Catholicism is a lie. Think about it: he kills, why wouldn’t he lie?
