Levin: Never Seen a Campaign ‘as Aggressive, as Nasty, as Ruthless, and as Dishonest’ as Kavanaugh’s

Nationally syndicated radio talk show host, TV host, author and American lawyer Mark Levin (Screenshot) On his nationally syndicated radio talk show Monday, host Mark Levin expressed alarm at the forcefulness with which some had pushed for Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court

Below is a transcript of Mark Levin’s remarks on his show Monday:

“Then we get to Kavanaugh. I have never seen a campaign for a Supreme Court justice to be nominated as aggressive, as nasty, as ruthless, and as dishonest as the campaign behind Kavanaugh. That’s not to say he wouldn’t make a good justice, but there are questions.

“And should he be the nominee – because apparently, he’s the leading candidate, I don’t know firsthand – should he be the nominee, and he’s in front of that committee, we constitutional conservatives, that is, we constitutionalists, we want conservatives like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz to ask some questions to satisfy our concerns, particularly on Obamacare, particularly on abortion, particularly on immigration.

“I don’t need to hear his views on Chevron and the administrative state. We know they’re good. They’re very good. But I need to know if he’s a constitutionalist. All of them, all of them.”

At the end of the day they’re not two different worlds .. Levin is working against Kavanaugh just as he worked against Trump with his big loud mouth. I can’t stand to listen to him any more.

Who in the hell is HE to decide who is and who is not a ‘conservative’ or a ‘Constitutionalist?’ Unless one aligns 100% with Levin (who, did you know, worked in the Reagan Administration?) they are not legitimately conservative or Constitutionalist. Levin has grown entirely too big for his britches.

My trepidation is based on many of his own comments about (paraphrasing) "growing as a judge and learning in the role" which seems to always presage a shift to the left. His praise of Kagan and Kennedy and his bragging about having a majority of female staffers also gives pause.

The purpose of the pre-announcement hype was to get people to tune in to their TVs to see who he'd pick. Trump was saying at least a week before the broadcast just when he would announce his pick, then telling people during the day yesterday to tune in. With the disinformation leaks pointing toward a number of different names being the "sure thing", he built suspense. Watching the announcement on TV would be like watching the final episode of some show like The Bachelor, or Survivor.

Kavanaugh's goal in his speech wasn't to reassure hard-core conservatives. It was to win over popular opinion of the nonpolitical population before the media had a chance to plant the view in people's minds that he was some sort of monster. The democrats and media are hoping to get the (generally) nonpolitical population fired up to put pressure on their Senators to oppose Kavanaugh's confirmation. The approach by Trump/Kavanaugh was designed to preemptively smother the flames.

“The approach ... was designed to preemptively smother the flames.”

It’s not complicated, I can’t figure out why so few seem to get that.

I think Mark is mad because people were not cheerleading for Mike Lee.

To some degree it was the safest pick for confirmation.

‘Who in the hell is HE to decide who is and who is not a ‘conservative’ or a ‘Constitutionalist?’

I felt that way too at the beginning of the show tonight when he started criticizing Kavanaugh, but I must admit that I did not like Kavanaugh’s approach to the Obamacare rulings after hearing Mark Levin read the transcripts of the court debate. Kavanaugh, like John Roberts, seemed to be willing to twist himself into a pretzel to make Obamacare work. I was actually glad that Levin went through it all, it’s important to know.

and Meese (barely) stood up.

Uh, he was born in 1931 making him, 87 years old. He is doing well to be able to stand up at all.

“From the excerpt, this appears to be about the effort to get Trump to name Kavanaugh. I am lukewarm at best about this nomination. I fear he’s designed to do the exact job as the man he’s replacing.”

Yep. I hope I’m 100% wrong but I get this uneasy feeling he may end up being a clone of his former boss. He came across a bit too “warm and fuzzy” in his presentation.

Like I said, I hope I’m wrong.

You ain’t seen nothing yet. I think I know how they will attack Kavanaugh, but just in case they haven’t thought of it, I will shut up. When you want to understand Democrats ask yourself “What would Satan do?”

Nothing about this nomination has gone well for the Democrats. So we can expect the liberal media to quickly move on.

Chuck Schumer and the liberal media panicked the Democrats into believing the nominee would be a right-wing, bible-thumping monster, yet Brett Kavanaugh turned out to be a mild-manner human being. Even Maxine Waters couldn’t manage a worthwhile peep.

So it’s time to move on.

Bork was nastier in that it was based on nothing. Clarence Thomas? Perhaps that was the first of the "me too" movement. At the time, I was shocked that a woman would make a big deal about a guy saying stupid stuff.

I'll repeat myself. Mitch McConnell should do the vote before he allows summer vacation. Don't give the maniacs time to pull a Roy Moore fiasco on him.

Levin means the supporters behind Kavanaugh, pushing for him, not the Democrats opposing him. It was bizarre days before Monday, media pushing for him.
