She says that was over 20-odd years ago, and that paperwork is long gone. Most folks I know....will keep business records going back to twenty years, but I doubt that they’d go past that point.

What she says is that she was a one-person computer consultant. I knew people like that in the 1990s...building web sites for folks as a one-person company and easily clearing $200k a year. By 2000, heavy competition came along and you had high school kids who could do the same work.

My wife and I have kept every scrap of paper our business has ever generated, since day one, over twenty years ago.

At some point we may digitize it all, but we'll never toss the hard copies. Old dog - old tricks...
