Kavanaugh is probably a “good” pick with upside potential, passable with today’s Senate. But after the midterm elections, President Trump should have a Senate that will confirm rock-solid Constitutionalists like Thomas Hardiman and Amy Barrett.

Well, now you’ve got 51 Senators with 3 unreliable votes, one of which is on his deathbed, and if the Democrats could have held the seat open through the elections, their voters would be desperate to turn out and win the Senate in order to try to keep the seat open through 2020. Is that what they wanted?
