Who cares about the gooks, what they think or feel about anything. Fu— them. This is about saving the USA’s industrial base. We should all concentrate on that.

China would need to import an additional $99 billion of US goods in order to match the $200 of new tariffs. That would be about a 74% increase in US purchases.

Also it matters what is being imported to each country to see their relative position. The US mostly imports durable goods, most of which have other sources in a pinch, or that we can make ourselves.

China, on the other hand imports a lot of food and fuel, including from us. They can't stop eating.

I suspect you have a commercial interest, in importing.

Of some sort.

Do you?

Trump has also put American manufacturers on notice - There are many other places in the world to manufacture stuff, including the good old USA. Stop enabling China’s military rise and Communist Government.

If you want to see a real hidebound, frozen-in-amber bureaucracy, look at China’s Communist Party and their top leadership.

Everyone looks to everyone else, and they are afraid of each other more than they are of the USA. So decisions take a loooong time, especially when its something they have never considered before.

I don’t. I just don’t want Americans, myself included, to pay more for stuff than they need to.

You do realize that China engages in slave labor. We cannot compete with that. That is why it is incumbent on China to buy more from us. Free trade is supposed to be a two way street. Currently, we buy everything from them while they buy hardly nothing from us. Enjoy your cheap Chinese slave made products while the middle class here shrinks every year.

China's weibo (twitter chat)

"LFC‏ @goldencaskcap
China rolls out “ask what can you do for your country”-equivalent PR, saying Chinese people need to sacrifice themselves for the greater good in the trade war against U.S. Giddy up, war is here!

“You first have a country, then you can have a home.”

I always suspected Obama got his speeches from China LOL!

As tariff take effect, and trade deficits decline the US dollar will only strengthen. this will alleviate the effect of the import tariff on prices. Also, as more domestic suppliers comes on line that will also lower prices.

Open your mind and stop drinking the globalist kool aid. LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE.
