We are in a Cold Civil War: Liberals and Conservatives hate each other, and try to undermine each other, but no shooting (yet).

When one side follows the Constitution and the other side does not, there is going to be an unbridgeable divide. We have what appears to be irreconcilable differences. Just saying.

Just what I said earlier in a conversation on another thread. :)

Surely you’re not suggesting that the South was the side following the Constitution?

Up till 1860. After that, not so much. It appears you missed my point that the Northern states were deliberately defying/ignoring the Constitution, which is quite a lot of the argument of the South Carolina secession document.

The Civil was the south WAS following the rules.

States Rights were the real issue. Slavery was just the vehicle.

States had the right to withdraw from “the union” if they wanted to- until the north forced them to stay.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating for slavery, but for states rights.

This is beside the point. Liberals don’t want to secede from the Union. They want to conquer all of it.
